I’m going to subscribe to this thread because I’m considering DIYing my own make up as well. I have bookmarked Mrs. Rainbow’s tutorial about how to fake airbrushing. I’ve been practicing with my everyday makeup and loving how its turning out!

I went the DIY route since I could not justify the cost for an artist. I just used the chafing gel recommended by Mrs. Rainbow, a powder foundation, bronzer, and blush, then a gloss, mascara and eye shadow. But that’s it.

I was recommended to avoid mineral veil foundation or anything that has spf as it can reflect in the photos. I would recommend eyeliner if you can stand it (I got an iceball to the eye a couple years ago so I have a hard time with things near my eye) but a little exaggerated eyeshadow worked for me to give a slight elongated look.

I did my own. I had a makeup artist there, but I started to panic a little and just needed a moment to myself. Since, I normally wear makeup, I knew that it would be fine.

I did my own, using  Mrs. Rainbow’s tutorial as a guide. I bought some primer and nicer foundation than I usually use, as well as some eye liner and lip stain, then practised doing myself up so I was confident when the day came. I don’t usually wear much makeup, but I applied more than the everday amount. I felt good because I knew I would be comfortable with the colours and style of the makeup.

I did my own too. I used Makeup Forever HD foundation (and primer and setting powder), and Cargo eyeshadow. I really liked doing my own, plus it let me justify buying a bunch of makeup :).

I had DIY makeup. I can count on one hand how many times I have put on makeup in the past 5 years and it still looked great 😀

@thursdayschild: Eyes were more than usual, otherwise it was a normal level of heaviness (which isn’t that heavy at all)

I also DIY’ed my own make up. I used Make Up Forever HD foundation. Its amazing, and stayed on for 10 plus hours. Its pretty pricey, but definitely worth it and one bottle will last you a long time. Sephora will color match you for free and if you take it home and hate it, they will let you bring it back. I used a Smashbox primer beforehand. You can get samples for free to try it out. I also finished my whole look with Urban Decay setting spray. Waterproof eyeliner and falsie eyelashes stayed on the entire day and evening. Hopefully that wasnt too overwhelming! I think the two most important touches would be false eyelashes (or at least pump up your mascara, a lot!) and a decent foundation because after hugging 250 people, my makeup handn’t budged!

I second going to sephora… I just got married so no pro pics yet… but it looked lovely from the teaser photos I got.

I used Sephora 15 hr photofinish I believe and it lasted all day. Also the people working there were wonderful to me and also offered me the ability to take it back even after I bought it if I didn’t like it. The color matching was how I knew what to use on the big day! Will post pictures when I get them in but going to Sephora made looking flawless easy 😉

Very beautiful ladies!

 @Rockwell:  I love your lip shade!

@pccl:  You’re rockin the red lipstick… I’m not brave enough ):

I did my own make up! I can’t stand anyone near my eyes (had muscular eye surgery when i was 16)…. Didn’t tackle my own hair though haha
