Hey ladies. I’ve been engaged for a year now and had a 3 stone halo ring with a pave setting. Unfortunately it was a nightmare and I lost stones 6 times. The final straw was when 2 weeks ago the center stone came loose. When I took it in for repair I cried because it looked like crap when they returned it. Basically it had been repaired so much it started to change forms. My jeweler decided it was best to have it reset in a bezel setting. Has anyone had this done? How did it turn out? I had no choice but to have it done but a part of me hates the idea that my ring is being changed. I’m also not crazy about bezel settings but it was the best solution. I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else went through this and can tell me it’s going to be beautiful.

There’s a post on the boards right now (should be on page one or two) with tons of beautiful bezel settings!! They look awesome, seriously!
I’m sorry you have to change your original ring. Could you just take the diamonds out and start over with a different pave setting if that is your preference?

I probably could have gotten a different pave but I was so disgusted I didn’t want another one. The jewler told my fiance he felt really bad because he never made anyone cry before.

Yeah, I guess you wouldn’t want the same thing to happen again. Here is the link to the nice bezel set rings post – maybe it will make you feel better!
Show me your bezel/half bezel set E rings! (please!)

What about just a regular 6-prong (6 prongs for the security) solitaire instead of pave? I think bezels are really cool and definitely very secure, but if they aren’t your style I think that doing a regular plain solitaire would be the better way to go. If you’d rather do the bezel v having just prong set, I think there are lots of really cool things about bezels. #1) It will be secure 2) It won’t snag on things like comfy blankets or clothing 3) It won’t scratch you or anyone else (awesome if you plan on having babies) 4) It’s really just such a unique and sporty style.
