Hey Derbybride. I’m starting p90x tomorrow.  How are you and Fiance doing so far?

 

I am drasticly changing my eating habits too.  Like they talk about in the nutrition book and talked alot about it with the Fiance (hes in ridiculously great shape)  working out is a good portion of loosing weight, but its more important to look at what you put in your mouth.  I’m trying to stay 1200 and under cals a day.  Staying away from processesd foods.  Cutting portions.  Eating the right foods.

I’m doing P90x now.  Who would have thought that workouts at home would be so hard?  I haven’t been able to get through 6 straight workout videos yet, but I’m working my way up to it.  A guy friend of mine lost 40 lbs doing P90x but he went all out with it including the diet etc.  I’m just using it to tone up w/o having to go to the gym.

My brother and his wife did, and they look innnnnnnnnncredible!  They did change their eating habits too.  You dont only have to eat healthier, you also have to eat cleaner.  No processed foods, etc.  They inclue a great guide with the program.  I just started on top of my normal workout routine.  Its a GREAT program.

For advice on eating habits, Miss Lab did some great health and fitness posts!  Ill try to track them down

P90 gals – any updates.  What program are you guys doing? I’m doing the classic cause i do enough cardio on my own.  Did plyo today…holy cow, my legs are shaking!

I love me some P90X (lean)!!  I’m in my full 3rd week!  I’ve done all the workouts everyday (even the stretch)!!  I actually look forward to doing them when I come home from work!  I did Yoga today and it felt great, its a change from the gym (same-ol-same-ol without the results)

I’m on week 4 and not only do I feel stronger, I’ve lost some inches all over. Woot woot!  Do I look like the chicks in the video?  Notsomuch.  But its workin and I’m only on week 4!

I did the plyometrics workout with my friend and got my butt kicked!!  That was one of the toughest things I have ever done!  I can’t imagine 90 days of stuff that hard.  Kudos to anyone who has completed that!

at the beginning of the year my Fiance and i did almost the full 90 days (i would say we probably missed a week out of the program). what derbybride found on beachbody.com i found to be true for me. Fiance definitely lost weight in the beginning quicker than i did, which was a little frustrating, but after month 1 i had definitely toned up, month 2 even more and just a little bit into month 3 i had friends make remarks about how toned my upper body was. why oh why did i not keep it up! 🙂

we did follow the eating quidelines for month one, but did get a little more lax in the last 2 months. ie- if we wanted to have pizza and beer on the weekends we didn’t beat ourselves up for it- we just had to make sure we did the workouts along with that.

i will definitely be doing the program again starting in january so i’m toned up for the wedding. good luck to you all! it is seriously worth the effort.

just a sidenote- keep track of your weights and reps throughout the entire program. it’s neat to look back and see how far you’ve come. if anyone wants word documents for the weight exercises i’m happy to send you copies- i made some on word so that we would both have them (since the book only comes with one).
