My wedding is in a garden, so I was also worried about sinking into the grass. I’m already pretty tall (5’7″), so I didn’t really need the height, but still wanted something other than flacts. All the wedges I looked at were way too high. I found these and I think they’ll work well since the heel isn’t too thin. I got them at Nordstrom recently – so they’re still there.

I’m having an outdoor ceremony but wearing heels. I’m 5’2″ with a 6’4″ Fiance, so I know what you are talking about needing height.

I’m just adding these so I don’t sink:

@sparkles_10:  Are those big enough to prevent sinking?  I always feel like unless I have a good square inch or two of surface area the heel starts sinking.

I’m having an outdoor wedding too, and have a knee length wedding dress that shows off my shoes fully so I’m not sure what to do.

@sparkles_10: Good to know!  I don’t think a wedge will look good with my dress, and it seems like all the heel options so far this year are sinking-width.

My outside wedding will be completely outside! I’m talking cobblestone for the ceremony, gravel and grass! So, it was a definite MUST that I find some comfortable wedges to wear with my dress. A bridesmaid found this puppies at Nordstrom for $59.95 and they are amazing! I need to add a small traction pad to the bottom, I think.

@iHeartCupcakes: WOW!! Those are beautiful! Hm, I wonder how long it would take me to convince Fiance that $215 for shoes *is* necessary…
