@SoontobeMrsAM:  We are going on a cruise for our honeymoon in a few weeks. I am excited, but nervous now that there have been so many cruise problems. I wanted to go to Rome, but my FI wanted something relaxing, and we both love trying different types of food, so we are going to (hopefully) enjoy stopping in all the different ports and all the free food on the cruise, we are also doing the chef’s tasting meal on our cruise, which costs extra. I think that italy sounds awesome, but I wonder how comfortable the bus is and whether you would enjoy having to follow the tour, when you could be more free to do your own thing on a cruise.

We went on a cruise for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Very laid back and a lot of fun. I can’t wait till our cruise next year, so much fun!

We are doing a cruise for our honeymoon next fall and I can’t wait!  I too have some reservations because of the trouble that has been going on lately.  But I feel like cruise lines are probably really trying to make sure that those things won’t happen again.  At least I’m hoping! 🙂

We are seriously thinking of a Mediterranean cruise for our honeymoon. I’d love it!

We were seriously considering the same thing because FI’s parents offered to send us!  So we started looking into it, getting totally excited at all the place and awesome stuff to do.  When we told FI’s parents we picked dates and a room, etc., his mom says blank faced “We aren’t paying for anything!” It’s totally out of our budget now that we are paying.  I am so defeated, but would still love to go some day.

We did a Med cruise for a family trip a few summers ago it was amazing, I’d definitely recommend it! I think we used either Princess or Holland America (if not for that one, then for the Baltic cruise we did a few years earlier), but frankly I’ve liked every cruise I’ve ever been on, regardless of company (I even liked the “dreaded” Carnival cruise I went on once haha)

Also, bus trips are hell, I’d rent a car and drive all over myself before doing a bus tour (my family hates group tours in general though, such little flexibility)

We’re not, but it’s because of other obligations (yes, obligations on the honeymoon), not a lack of interest. That said, I would totally choose a cruise over a 12 day bus tour of Italy. I’ve been on tour buses in Italy and… I’d rather be on a cruise. I hope you have fun!

@GeorgiaBride5:  They offered to pay then said they weren’t paying?!? That’s awful of them to get your hopes up!

We cruised and it was amazing! I love to “sample” new places and a cruise is the best way to do it! Plus, we don’t have to pay for food!

We love cruising and will definitely be taking one for our honeymoon.  We’ll be doing a 10-day out of Miami to the Virgin Islands and we can’t wait. I think it’s the best way to get out to so many places in one shot.
