Oh gosh.  I’m just starting to look into moissanite rings, and now this is going to throw in another variable!  Haha, back to Google I go…

With what I’ve seen so far, I am definitely curious.  I hadn’t heard about the grading?  GIA does not grade sims, so they must be using someone else.

suelady:  just make sure they are making the cut you want.  They are doing limited cuts and I was heartbroken when I found out they weren’t doing mime

I highly doubt GIA is grading these stones, maybe a GIA certified gemologist which plenty of jewelers have this certification. I’m not too curious because the warmth in moissanite isn’t what bothers me. The cut is what needs improved in my opinion, especially in the round brilliant. So if they would fix that, then sure I’d probably buy one for a right hand ring. I am however curious to see how they compare to the amora gem ultra, since they are probably their top competitor.

GIA does not grade moissanite of any kind. I’d be more concerned about the cut than the color. Round moissy has a splintery cut. The amora gem has a much better cut.

I literally check everyday for updates. We were just about to order an amora moissy when it was announced.. Now all I can think about is the new stone 😩 we considered putting a deposit down but decided to wait and see, if they aren’t as great as they say they are we will probably stick with the amora or get a diamond of the same size.

We are both SO impaitent.. Is it september yet?

Personally,  at this moment, I am not interested in the new colorless moissanite. I am perfectly happy with my slightly warm fb moissanite. I feel that this colorless moissanite is just a move by Charles and Covers to “compete” with amora gem. I think amora gem surpass any diamond alternative that is currently available.

I am SO READY! Does it come out in September? Upgrading my ering to a 2ct forever one if they improve the cut of the rounds!

They will not be graded by GIA, the GIA does not grade any lab grown gemstone, with the exception of lab grown diamonds, and I’m not sure what they send back could even be worth the money paid for it (ie, instead of a color grade, it’s “colorless D-F” or “near colorless G-J”, etc.).

As far as interested…. not particularly. Don’t get me wrong, having more options is always a good thing, but the company has acted pretty sketchy in the past, who knows if the cut is going to get any better, and they obviously chose their pricing to compete with the AG.

Very happy for others, but doubt it will impact my purchasing decisions.

I hate the fact that no one will tell me if it is going to be hearts and arrows cut which at this point im assuming it wont be. I’ll probably end up with the amora gem. I was very excited for the forever one but I feel like their initial info release was extremely lacking and kind of took the excitement out of it.

kindaclueless:  Amora Gem is composed of 50% carbon and 50% silicon so it is similar to moissanite. They are cut better and have been superior colorwise until the colorless moissy was introduced. I believe it is still supposed to have more fire. They are created by better than diamond who also made the amora moissanite upgrade.

I agree with MrsSparkleBee13: .  I have a moissanite which I am very happy with, and it is actually extremely white, so no complaints there.  The only way I would want a forever one is if the cut on the Round Brilliant was improved, which from what I hear it wasn’t, so I’ll stick with my moissy.  As of right now the only thing I would switch my moissy for is the Amora Gem, as I personally feel like it’s the best of the best of the silicon carbide world at this point.
