I had fairly long hair, then I got bored with my hair and decided I wanted to cut it and donate it.  So I did a big cut and it was just above my shoulders, I think they cut somewhere around 18 inches.  Well then my fiance proposed a couple months later and I was bummed that I had just cut off all my hair, so now I’m growing it for the wedding so I can do some curls but our 10 month long engagement isn’t going to get me much length, at most a couple inches below my shoulder. So I’m planning to chop it off after the wedding again because it’s just an awkward length right now.

I’ve been wanting for years to chop it, but since I knew I wanted long hair for my wedding I refused until afterwards. This was my hair when I first met my Fiance, so after our honeymoon its gonna be exactly like this…hopefully haha. It works cause I have thin hair so cutting it short and the way it was layered actually made it look full and thick

all this haircut talk has inspired me to make an appointment today. this will be post wedding haircut #3!  today, I think I’m going to ask for an just-above-the-shoulders bob.  maybe that will finally fix the mullet. grrrr….I’m still so mad at the girl who ruined my long hair.

I plan on getting a post-wedding chop.  When my cousin got married she had waist length hair.  After her wedding she chopped it to a super cute bob.  She looks so great that it inspired me to get the chop as well.

I plan on getting my hair chopped.  My hair right now is just past my shoulders and I HATE it.  I’ve always had chin length hair; it is soo much easier to deal with wihen it is short.  Ahh…I’m counting down the months until my haircut.

Yes! And I cannot wait. Haha. I mean, I love having my hair long and I’ve been keeping it long for awhile (and now it’s for the wedding), but as soon as we are back from the honeymoon, chop chop! Nothing crazy, probably just a shoulder-length bob type. I saw this pic of Gwyneth Paltrow on some late night show and it was just perfect.

YES AND I CAN’T WAIT EITHER!  I’ve had long hair forever and will probably keep it that way.  HOWEVER, I am so totally getting full bangs like the DAY after the wedding.  I’ve been wanting to try it for ages, but don’t want to do it pre-wedding in case it sucks haha.

I’ve kept my hair long for a couple years now, and I’m kind of sick of it. I dyed it- more like bleached it- blond and ruined the part that’s growing out now. I can’t wait til I can cut off the evidence from that major bad decision!!

Same comments as everyone here – no symbolism, just let it grow longer than I prefer for the sake of awesome wedding hairstyle, and donated 9 inches after. Some of my husbands out of town friends saw me this weekend with the shorter hair and asked if I had hair extensions at the wedding, as they didn’t see me stuffing my hair into ponytails and buns all summer because styling became such a hassle.

Mine was long earlier this summer and due to a combination of quick weight loss and wedding planning stress, I started losing a lot of hair. I cut it just above the shoulders thinking it would help, but now my hair is just a mess. It tangles easily, and it’s just at that inbetween length where it either needs to get short or get long. And since it’s not very healthy, I think it’ll be better to just chop it and start over on keeping it healthy.

Right now I’m keeping it shoulder length just so I have enough to put it up in a twist for the wedding (in 17 days!) but after that it will be straight to the salon for me! Cutting it off before the honeymoon 🙂

I said I was going to do it, and didn’t do it yet.  But I have my hair appointment on Monday.. not sure if I’m going to cut off the 4 inches she wants to cut off… think I may do a side bang or some more layers..

But yeah I heard that same thing… that the bride usually cuts here hair.. My husband says go for it.. however I think it might have something to do with the long strands of brown hair all over the bathroom floor and tub!

I like my hair on the longer side… and it has been this way most of my life (can count on one hand how many years I’ve had short hair)

It was only thru reading WBee that I discovered a lot of Brides do the ceremonial Post-Wedding Chop…

I kind of like this idea… and am thinking that this is something I’ll do in the first few days of our Mini-Moon, that way I can

(a) Have short hair for both our warm climate Mini-Moon and Honeymoon

(b) Signify a NEW Beginning

(c) Come home from my Wedding with a whole new look… and surprise everyone at our Back-Home Reception

Heck I am even thinking of doing something radical like changing my colour at the same time…

I am cutting my hair and dyeing it too. Right now it’s past my shoulders.

I cant wait to chop my hair off after my wedding. I have really thick hair and it is medium length and will take me at least a solid 20 minutes to blow dry and another 10-15 to straighten! I’m only growing it out for my wedding for style options (may still even add extentions) and I imagine shortly after I will chop it off above my shoulders! Make me feel like anew woman! Which I will be!
