My child was going to get my mother’s maiden name regardless of gender. My daughter got it when she was born and I absolutely love it. It fits her perfectly.

I had an unexpected pregnancy a few years ago and we started looking at names before I miscarried. From there we decided on aspects of names for when we do start TTC (which won’t be for a few years).

We’re pretty set on our first daughter being named ‘Scarlet/t -something- May’ and that our sons will all have the middle name ‘Mathewson’.

Other than that, we have a list of first names we love and a list of family names for middle names, which we’ll choose form once we’re TTC and/or pregnant.

@Sawyer13:  omg! I remember I saw one of my friends moms name written down on a piece of paper and it was Marcia, which I thought was Mar-see-a, like you. So I told her ‘your mom’s name is one of my favorites’ and she said ‘really Marsha?’ And I didn’t know what to do and kinda gave her a blank stare, and managed out a ‘yeah’ lol I don’t know why I was so embarrassed to tell her ‘oh no I thought it was pronounced different’ lol

But I’m pretty sure Marcia cross from desperate housewives is pronounced Mar-see-a. And she spells it like Marcia:-)

@Brittanyg20: My daughter’s name is Ridley. I hate sharing it for fear that every baby ever will get her name. I hope someday she will appreciate it. Her middle name is Marline, my MIL’s name, which is also a family name as my MIL’s dad’s name was Marlin. I love that her name is all about family. I hope she will be proud of it someday.

My grandpa’s middle name was Francis. I think its pretty rad. I love old fashioned names!

@Brittanyg20:  The amusing thing is my name is Carly… so as much as I LOVE Charlie too, as a nickname for Charlotte, having “Carly and Charlie” might have been a bit twee ๐Ÿ˜‰ It’s funny enough that me & my nephew’s names are so similar, I remember when my brother sent me the text with the name announcement I burst into giggles because of how close our names sound!  Last year my two & a half year old neice would call us “Carwee and Charwee” but she’s grown out of it now which makes me sad because it was so darn cute.

@Brittanyg20:  Asher was the boys name I knew I wanted long before I ever thought I’d have kids.

(totally struggled with a girls name- so I’m super happy he is a boy!!)

Oh course we’ve picked names for our kids, that probably won’t exist for another 5 years.  We have agreed on 1st names but middle names are still being negotiated.

Girl Name-  Mila Rose

Boy Name- Myles Blake

Yup!

We’re not going to be TTC for about a year, but we know for sure if we have a daughter, we’re going to name her Anna-Rose Tiana. We have several names picked out for a boy. I think for our first boy, we’re leaning towards Blaze Caspian.

We came up with our daughter’s name before she was conceived, in casual talking about baby names (because I’ve loved baby names since I was a kid) and we both loved it, but I didn’t know it was her name until I knew I was carrying a daughter and then it just clicked.

Her name is going to be Cora Genevieve Morgan ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh yeah!  For some reason girl names were easier for us to come up with, so we had a bunch, but now it’s down to one: Eleanor Carol, after his grandmother and my mother.

For a boy it’s Andrew Jesse.  DH’s family has this tradition where the boy takes the father’s first name as his middle, so…yeah.

Now all we need is to conceive the little nut!   ๐Ÿ˜‰

I really wanted the names Mara Ann and Rhys Myrrdin for my kids for the longest time. But the family I married into has a Maria, Marianne, Marion, Alice Maria…so yeah, Mara is out. Plus my middle name is Marie. Once we got married, DH and I talked about names and have settled on Erika Grace (first name of his gran) for a girl. I was vetoed strongly on Rhys Myrrdin, so we’ve settled on Joshua Rhys. J names are strong in my family with a John, James, Josiah and various uncles who are Johns or Jacks…but no Joshua. I have half a mind to nickname the boy Jo like my brother if we have a boy. We want to have 3 kids, so at some point I’ll have to come up with another boy name and girl name to use.
