My Fiance and I have yet to set a date for the wedding as the timing depends on a lot of “ifs” as he puts it.
There was a time in my life when I was dead single and thought there was a very strong possibility that I would never marry as I had no marriage prospects. That changed when in July I reconnected with an old high school boyfriend with whom I have taken another go at a relationship since August and been engaged to since late October. Needless to say, it has been hard to me to envision what I kind of wedding I’d like to have. And what few details have occured to me have come to me little by little, and often when I’m doing something completely unrelated.
For instance, one day, when I was on my way home from taking some stuff to be recycled, I decided that the color scheme I’d like to shoot for is pink and dark blue, since pink is my favorite color and dark blue is his. (I told him my idea for the color scheme; he said “We shall see.” and left it at that.) My second choice for the color scheme would be two tones of blue consisting of the dark blue and instead of pink, a light blue. (If I remember correctly, I think light blue has been deemed by others to be one of my better colors.)
So, regardless of whether or not you have set the date yet, do you have a color scheme or tentative color scheme in mind for your wedding?

I have decided on teal and orange. I love this combo together even though many people frown when I mention it. I am so excited to start pulling the wedding together with those colors. So many option with shades and designs, I am tickled “teal” just thinking about it !!!!!!!

Our color theme is going to be turqouise and red 🙂 I adore it.. but when I mention it, people have a puzzled face.. until they personally see it together! I went back and forth on different color and went back to the one I loved ( and my fiance) after all, it is OUR special day 🙂

I want chocolate and Ivory, Fiance wants wine and ivory (after I explained what ivory exactly is). I’m pretty sure we’ll end up with mine since the venue linens and decor fit better with chocolate.

@future_sovesky : I LOVE turquoise and red : ) like, a lot.
We used pink, navy and nude/khaki…exactly what you were saying above, a little of the bride’s favorite and a little of the groom’s favorite–everyone’s happy!

Okay we are a pink and blue couple too. So we had to find a common ground and colors like purple, orange or green (not either of our favorites) were out.
We settled on our main colors being blues (when I say blues I mean all shades, why not), aquas, and corals, with pops of blush. We are having a May wedding and I think our color scheme is work well.
I firmly believe there is no reason what so ever that a wedding has to be only 2 or 3 colors. Or 2 or 3 shades of the same color.

No wedding date set (yet 🙂 ) but I have known what I want to do for a long time (favorite color and probably since childhood lol). So, dark purple (concord), different color purples, ivory and silver!
I want to use a really, really dark (almost black) purple for the bridesmaids dresses slash as a neutral color and then pair it with different colors of purple (flowers), ivory and silver (like metallic/silver vases, etc.). It’s just the beginning of an idea though.
Mr.LR says our wedding will be a purple, sparkly explosion. I say it’ll be beautiful and elegant 🙂 Good thing he doesn’t care, as long as I’m happy and at the end of the day we are married!
