if so, what did you do with the cake afterwards?
We are going that route as our baker has amazing cake flavors that need to be refridgerated but i have no idea what we do with the dummy cake!
I have seen girls on here selling them, which is a great idea its gonna break my heart to just throw away something we paid hundreds for!

Well I know I’m going to have to throw it away in a few months but right now it’s on display. I love seeing it! I could probably keep it for a year but we’ll see.

I’m confused. The dummy cake can be sold again? Is it plastic?

Hmm, I’ve never seen them for sale, but I’ve talked to a couple of bakeries that have them on hand.

We were considering getting a dummy cake and having sheet cake out back to serve guests, but it wasn’t cost effective because most of the cost of cake is in the decorating. They are a good idea though for cakes that need refrigerating.
After the wedding you could try to sell it, or donate it to a charity group so that people who can’t afford to have a big fancy cake could still get the look of one and serve sheet cake instead.
