(Closed) Anyone do Couch to 5k?

I’m starting the couch to 5k on Friday… trying to surprise Darling Husband when he gets back from a month’s worth of training with a rocking bod (and the ability to actually go on a jog with him, hah!). I have NEVER been a runner, so I’m nervous about this. I lost about 120 pounds 5 years ago, and I’ve got the battle scars to prove it (loose skin, stretch marks, etc)… this has been painful while running in the past, so I hope I can push through it this time.

Good luck to you! I’d also like to know more aobut speeds, etc!

I did C25K about 2 years ago…now I’m on my way to running a marathon in May!

When I’m on a treadmill, I usually walk at 4mph and run between 5.8 and 6.5. I start out jogging slowly, then do a few minutes each at 6.0 and 6.2 before peaking at 6.5. Then I do it in reverse. You’ll know when you’ve found your sweet spot in terms of pace–it will feel easier. It will also feel easier the more you do it…good luck!
