Teddy has been trying to convince me to do P90X with him…i have gained about 10 pounds in the last few months and i want to get fit again! How do you like the program? Is it doable? Do you need weights etc? Do you strictly do P90X or do you run or add on also? Lots of questions i know! I really appreciate your input!

You do need weights, but they’re not expensive. My manager (who has NEVER worked out a day in her life til she started P90X) loves it and says she can tell a real difference a month in!!! Her fiance is doing it and while he was cut to begin with, it took him to a WHOLE different level!

It’s a great workout! I don’t feel like it is enough cardio for me personally and so when I did it I did doubles or did a cardio session at the gym as well as the video.
I prefer to use weights but you can use resistance bands also.

i do Power 90 – the less hardcore version of P90X – i hvae lost 10 pounds so far, so its somewhat working!

I’m doing the P90X lean right now and LOVING it. It really kicks my butt but I know I’m getting something out of it too 🙂

i did it once with a friend who is addicted- its super cheesy and super long but definitely is a good workout

I’ve got great endurance…but P90X is too hardcore for me
I did about a month of it. I liked Kenpo X, PlyoX and the leg workout. I have weakling arms and can’t do many pushups, and don’t own a pullup bar…so I felt like it kind of defeated the purpose for the upper body workouts. AND, Yoga X …dont even get me started on that. Seriously…why is yoga the most difficult one of all? haha
But, Kenpo and Plyo are good! And I’m sure if you do all hte workouts, you’ll get the results

Great! Maybe this will help me tone up! I was pretty skinny to begin with so im not to worried about the weight…i just worry about flab…i want muscles! haha.
@phedre-whats P90X lean?

@Ms.Teddy – when I got my kit, the book has three different “workout programs” that you can follow with the P90X stuff. There is the standard program, the doubles program (where you do two workouts a day – YIKES!), and then the lean program which is basically the regular program with a bigger emphasis on cardio rather than the weight training. A friend of mine recommended that to me – she was concerned about getting too “bulky” in the upper body and the lean helped her lose weight and get toned but she didn’t bulk up. 🙂

- Wedding: March 2012 - Marie Gabrielle
My sister and her husband are just finishing this. She says both she and her husband have “movie star bodies” now. They love it but acknowledge that it’s a BIG commitment (time, money.) They follow the food program, too. My sister recently trained for an Ironman, so…. if it’s tough for her, the though of me doing it is pretty scary!

I tried it a few times. The workout itself feels great, but each session is very long, at least an hour, and I don’t feel I get enough cardio. I prefer exercising 30 or so minutes every day rather than a full hour.

My mom and brother LOVES the P90x….My brother and his friend are preparing for military boot camp and feel the program gives them a great workout. My mom has been sticking with the P90x for about 3 months now and says she could feel a major difference within the first week….She did say the program is too advance for some people though…

P90x works great for me, but it’s really difficult to get motivated to do the long workouts. I use weights with it. Target has a set for $50 that are adjustable and don’t take up much room.
I did Body For Life a couple of years ago and those work outs were so much easier to do because they were only 20-40 minutes instead of 60-90 every day. I had really great results with that…. come to think of it, I might go back to it 🙂

My Fiance just started doing P90X a few weeks ago. Hes only done CardioX so far but he really likes it. I am probably going to do some as well. I work out already though and dont feel I need it, but just want to try somethin different. You should try Denise Austin. I do her Yoga Body Burn (amazing), YOga Buns, and 10 5 minutes target toners where you can customize what parts of your body you want to work on. Im also going to get her cardio DVDs she is awesome! ANother really good work out is the Biggest Loser Boot Camp with Bob. Did it for a few months and lost 8 lbs in combination with Rodney Yee Power Yoga. Yoga really does wonders for the body! So does Pilates!
