Well recovery week of Phase 1 is finished, and I took my 30 day pictures and measurements this morning. I was pleasantly surprised when I did a split screen view on my computer of the photos. Funny how you can’t see that day to day, but side by side…this is really working!! So here are my results so far:
Weight: Down .6lbs since I started (and that is after gaining 2.5 lbs in the first 2.5 weeks)
Chest: Lost 1 inch (I know that this is good, becuase it isn’t all about my boobs…but sad face for the boobie lossage).
Waist: Lost 1.5 inches *YAY*
Hips: Lost 1 inch *YAY*
Thighs: Lost 1.75 inches off right & 1.5 inches off left *YAY*
Arms: Gained 1/4″ on my right and 1/2″ on my left (this kind of bummed me out because I don’t want my arms to get bigger, I have always thought I have big arms for a woman anyway…but in lookiing at the pics, they look smaller and more defined, so I am now okay with this)
Phase 2, I’m Bringing it to ‘ya today!! Hoping that these losses keep up, or even multiply in the next 2 phases. Operation Shrink the Bride continues.
All other P90X Bees, keep us posted on your successes!!!

Just did Day 3 of the Lean program. It seems to be going pretty good so far, I’ve been a lot more excited about doing the Lean program since I already knew what the Classic was like. I always wondered what the cardio video was like and I finally got to try it! Not really what I expected, I thought it was going to be more intense like plyo but it was not like that at all. If I can manage to keep the motivation that I have now I’ll be set!
It’s so good to hear from all of you 🙂

I love P90x! My partner and I are on week 7 of the P90x lean version and are atarting to really see results. I have lost 5lbs and notice a difference in my muscles. I feel stronger and can do more reps now. Its so rewarding to finish each video 🙂 We have also just started adding in some extra cardio(since there really isn’t enough) and as the weather gets nicer we are hoping to take regular walks.
I definitely reccomend P90x for anyone who wants to get into great shape. I can’t wait for our July wedding!!!!

Hi ladies, just checking in to say that I was a bad girl and skipped all last weekend. Needless to say the start of Phase 2 has been more difficult for it. I am ‘bringing it’ like a good girl so far this week, but dang am I sore. Gotta keep it up. Hope everyone is doing well, and your weeks with Tony and crew are off to a good start.

@MrsBrightSkies: Holy moly woman, that’s incredible!
I’ve been really bad about P90X, so lately I’ve been alternating between those workouts and running outside after work.

@Mrs.Oat: Thanks!! Hoping for a bit more before I am done, fingers crossed. I know that a lot of people say stick to the program religiously to see the best results, and I totally believe that to be true. But, my sister does the same thing that you do…P90 about 2-3 days a week, running 2-3 days a week (she works long hours, and can’t always find the time), and she is seeing results. (although she is a skinny-mini to begin with, so sometimes I want to throw things at her)
I think it boils down to finding the right strength/cardio balace for your body and working with it.

@MrsBrightSkies: LOL! I have a skinny mini sister too! And yes, when she eats a cookie and complains that she feels bloated, I want to throw things at her too 🙂

@CookieBee: You should try the “lean” version if you weren’t already. It’s not necessarily “easy,” but I think if I can do it, anyone can (seriously, cuz I’ve got Fibromyalgia and a bad back, which are definitely less than ideal for p90x- or any exercise, really)! You just have to do what you can, take breaks when you need to, and keep at it. The more you do, the easier it gets over time! =)

Is there anyone who would want to sell their copy of P90X? I’m looking to buy it. Feel free to send me a message if you have one you’d like to get rid of.

@gg005: Sorry, I still like mine! But lately I’ve been finding myself muting the TV and just playing music. Those lame jokes get OLD after a few viewings.

I just started P90X lean this week. I’m only doing every other day right now because I’m so sore the next day. I was told not to exercise sore muscles, so here I am. After I get through the first “week” of exercises, I’ll start doing them everyday with the one day off. It’s hard, OMG is it hard, but I feel great!

@Mrs.Oat: I have started to do that as well.. Plus after a while, you have the workouts memorized.
@missyjane77: The soreness will ease, but I am a proponent of recovery shakes after workouts, especially when you first start. I am not taking this from the P90X, Beachbody, or Tony Horton hype either. This comes from my teenage son, hockey player and he lifts weights in the off season to regain muslce mass he loses when he skates 3 hours a day during the season. Anywho…he told me “Mom, my shakes will help you not be sore, seriously drink them” So I did. Totally works!! Protein and Glutamine are what I (he) looks for, he actually has a protein shake and mixes gluta into it. The Glutamine just helps your muscle tissue repair more quickly so that the soreness goes away, and you can stay in the gym daily. I don’t buy the P90X stuff, we hit our local Max Muscle and let the nutritionist there recommend what is best based on the workout routine. Maybe something to look into.
Now about me…Ugh, phase 2 has been rocky. I have been missing sessions (Skipped Yoga and Kenpo in Week 5, skipped Kenpo in week 6, and will most likely be skipping Cardio this week, week 7). Anyone else done this and had it totally screw up your progress? I’m still not losing any weight, but in the last week have been asked “Wow, are you losing weight?” 4 times…so I must be reconfiguring my shape. 🙂
