    Yes, and it was great!

No. What are you talking about?

Yes, and I wish we hadn't.

No, but I wish we had.

@Bainise2013:  We’re not married yet, but I would never want to do that. Sex is already exciting.

We discussed it and my husband looked at me and said that I wouldn’t last. And he was right. Why would I ‘ban’ an activity that helps relieve my stress? And around wedding time, I was a bit stressed.

@Bainise2013:  “I am not referring to those that abstained for religious reasons.”

    what’s the difference? Serious question.

@Overjoyed:  Probably that ppl with religious reasons abstain until marriage and haven’t had sex yet at all in their relationship, but this poll is more relevant to couples who already have sex, but choose to abstain for the months leading up to their wedding to make it more exciting.

@Bainise2013:  I suggested it, but Fiance isn’t down for it. Thinking more about it, I can see that it wouldn’t be a good idea for several reasons so I’m sure we won’t.

We abstained for a week with the idea that we would tease and flirt with each other to make it all the more tantalizing. Honestly, we were so busy with the wedding that we didn’t even think about it… The wedding night was great, though!

We also abstained from kissing the day before, which was kind of fun because we played around with that one and teased each other.

We stopped 3-4 months before the wedding! It was annoying at times but we both agreed that it made the wedding night more exciting! It made the honeymoon tons of fun too 😉

@Bainise2013:  No, it strikes me as game playing to a certain degree.

We will have to abstain for the week before because I will be having my period. So not by choice. But if that wasn’t the case, we wouldn’t be abstaining. Although the week before I think we’ll barely see each other – his parents will be coming in from out of the country, I’ll be staying at my parents house trying to tie up loose ends, etc.

I wouldn’t decide not to have sex just to do it though.

We’re going to abstain for a few days, but thats it lol. My Fiance wouldn’t agree to any longer than that, although I had suggested 2 weeks

Lawks but isn’t there enough potential stress surrounding a wedding without introducing articifial bans on sex? Sure, if a couple have never had sex and want to wait until their wedding night that makes some sort of sense. Not that I would have married anyone I hadn’t already lived with but playing at abstinence seems just a little silly, with respect.
