I have a shellac kit too and was going to do them myself… but a friend has just opened up a salon nearby to home and she does shellac or gels cheap, so i’ll ask her to do them instead – its nice being pampered too ๐Ÿ™‚

ps. my inspiration nails are very similar to yours but the glitter is on the moons instead of the tips ๐Ÿ™‚

@Pinkmoon:  Your nails look so pretty! I did my own and don’t regret it. I haven’t paid someone else to do my nails in almost a decade.

@Pinkmoon:  I can’t even do my nails on a regular day, let alone on my wedding day. I have someone come to my house to do my eyebrows, sugaring, etc. I will just get her to do them. It is cheap enough that I don’t feel the need to DIY.

I did my own because I never get my nails done and painting them one color isn’t that hard.

I did my own gel polish manicure (pale pink cream) and pedicure (French) for the wedding. DH’s stepmom was supposed to take me for a girls’ day, except that they decided to go out of town and not come back until right before the rehearsal. :

I was going to do something similar to

@deedeelicious, since I had that done for a pedicure before, but I couldn’t find the glitter that I wanted. Boo!

I love them both!! I think I’m going to go with the glitter on the moons for our Engagement pics this weekend!

@Pinkmoon:  I actually purchased some press-on nails from Walmart. I got the Kiss brand and they certainly aren’t what they used to be! I only had one nail pop-off all weekend, and that was easily fixed with the glue I had brought in my purse. I spent $10 for my fingers and toes. Much easier on my wallet than going to a salon!

I did round off the edges a bit because I can’t stand square shape nails on myself, but it was really easy.

@Pinkmoon:  I’m going to do my own (just clear or pale pink).  I never have my nails done (or painted any color other than clear) and I’m not about to start for my wedding.

Heck yeah I’m doing my own nails! I kind of know what colours I want but haven’t decided on what to do with them. I think I might try to replicate the lace pattern on my dress… that’s gonna take some practice Tongue Out

My entire family would be disappointed if I didn’t do something elaborate!

I planned to do my own, but just figured that I would go get them done if I broke a nail the week of the wedding or something like that. Good to have a back up plan:)

I did my own in a bright glittery red gel polish to accent my engagement ring. I love that color on my nails. I still wear it all the time, because I think it looks classy and makes my wedding set sparkle. Not to mention it matched our color scheme. ๐Ÿ˜€

Oh, and my bridesmaids liked the color so much, they painted their nails with the regular polish that made me fall in love with red glittery nails:

I did!!   It’s not a great picture, but you get the idea.  I bought drugstore nail polish, a coat of base, some sparkles for an ombré effect on the tips, and two coats of top coat.   I did them on the 3rd of October, they’re still in perfect shape today (9 days later) and I’ve been on my honeymoon on the beaches of Mexico for a week, so I haven’t been careful at all, and they look great  ๐Ÿ™‚
