I have a question about insanity.  I am not someone who regularly works out, and I am not even a little bit in shape.  Think 230 pounds.  Is this workout for people that are already in shape? Or could someone like me do it?

Thoughts???

I just ordered Insanity over the weekend.  It should be here by the end of the week.

Will anyone else be starting soon?

Fiance and I did the first month of Insanity a couple of years ago but fell off of the wagon due to back and knee pain.

We just started back last week but are doing a modified schedule of Insanity 2-3x a week plus swimming, walks, and tennis the other days.  We are hoping that this should help with the joint pain Smile

Have you any of you ladies tried Insanity: Asylum!?! It’s awesome! Definitely a lot nicer on the knees, too 🙂

Is it better on the knees?  I might look into that.  I’m halfway through week 3 (this is where I dropped off due to knee pain last time.  I am DETERMINED to get through it this time) and have modified a lot of the moves and am paying very close attention to my form.  So far I have a little bit of knee pain but nothing I can’t push through.  I keep the workout schedule taped to the wall of my workout room and put a big X through each day as I complete it.  Seeing the page fill up with big fat Xs is very encouraging!

Oh, and here’s a question.  I wear my fitbit when I do it and when I finish it says I’ve only burned like, 280 calories.  That can’t possibly be right.  How many calories are you ladies burning per workout?

I don’t know how much I’m burning per workout but honestly, I am a bit discouraged. I am in the middle of week three and I’ve only lost one measly pound! It’s so sad being as I watch what I eat with My Fitness Pal. The only thing keeping me going is  this lady from a link on my fitness pal, my stubborness and the fact that my dress actually zipped up when before it was so so tight. Keep in mind that I do insanity AND either weight train or do my Walk Away the Pounds. I am someone who has always been a workout queen but I stopped working out and watching what I ate for months on end and it came and bit me in my big fat rear end!!!

@admccomb:  What’s it like? I just heard about this recently. Is it a lot different?

Fiance and I just started our second round of Insanity yesterday!

Oh, gosh, I’m on my first day right now. Half hour in… paused the video… this one is a LONG pause, hahaha. Oh man.

My fit test day I thought for sure I was going to barf 😛 too soon after having had a huuuuge salad for dinner.

@funnyfruit:  I would make sure to check with a doctor before starting just to make sure.
