I stopped trying to make a color theme and decided that colorful was my theme.  We weren’t matchy matchy but everything came together really nicely!

I was – til I decided not to have a colour scheme! Now it’s just bright pastels. I couldn’t commit to one or two colours – it felt too restrictive so now we’re “anti colour scheme”. My BM’s are all wearing different colours and as long as its a brighter pastel it’s in!

why dont you use the places and ideas surrounding your wedding to define your colors, rather than taking stabs in the dark?  where is your venue, what colors does it use?  what time of year, day or night, formal or informal?  all those things should contribute to your color choice.

for example, if your ballroom had navy blue carpet, dont fight it.  use it.  at your wedding and in pictures, it will look like everything matches perfectly rather than looking like you tried to fight what was already there.

I think I mentioned this waaaaay long ago but the Snows’ first apartment was a sight… bright blue office, mustard bedroom, hot pink bathroom, grey stenciled squares in the living room, and a chartreuse kitchen….when we moved, the (slummy) landlords advertised our place as having  “Exciting and funky colors!” I’ve been scared to touch paint since then… (and, luckily/sadly, not been allowed to per the lease…lol)
