I will be 28 next month and I don’t care at all. I wish people wouldn’t celebrate it, actually, but my family always wants to get a cake and sing. I’m over it.

When I was 16 due to a medical condition I was told that I would never live past the age of 20. Well I’m 33 now so there! It’s not that I don’t look forward to birthdays I just don’t care to celebrate them anymore. I’m happy just knowing the day is special, maybe receive a card from my hubby & go out to a low-key lunch or dinner. I value every single day I’m given but don’t feel the need to make a big deal out of it.

I got excited for every year up until 13, then 16 and 21 (21 was awesome!).

But until I turn 30, I don’t see myself getting excited for my birthdays. I actually forgot mine this year–it was two days after a half marathon and 6 days before the wedding!

@ashley99: I’m starting to feel like this as I approach mid-thirties. I love being 30 something, it’s my favourite decade so far but 40, that’s like a parents age to me and that scares me and reminds me how fast time is going.

Yeah I am going to be 50. Wanna trade places?

You damn young whippersnappers! (I have been dying to say that!)

I sympathise. Am 30 in a few weeks and don’t know whether or not to laugh or cry. It’s a biggie, because it means my youth is basically gone.

Ugh… time for a drink…

Yeah… I’ll be 28 in a few weeks and I am very over birthdays. i’ve been birthday averse for a while, though. Seems like every time it comes I get depressed.
