Yup, I am dead broke. Like eating ramen noodles and drinking tap water until the wedding kinda broke. This wedding has just devoured our bank account. I feel like everywhere we turn we are shelling out more money for something wedding related. It is making my head hurt.
Two weeks can not come fast enough. I am so looking forward to having this wedding be over with so I can have $$$$ again!
Anyone else in the same boat?!?

YES. I have had to call and put all my student loans on hold because this wedding is sucking the life out of me! We have to be very careful with other things, like our date nights and grocery shopping. 2 months to go and we always say we cant wait for it to be over and for our bank accounts to start filling back up! We are paying for every penny of this wedding by ourselves, and though we feel proud its about time to be done! Yeesh!
Hang in there!

@wifegoodman: Ugh, I feel your pain!! We are trying to do this all in cash so we don’t start out with credit card debt which makes it SO much harder. I almost had to put toilet paper on a CC the other day….no joke!!

Absolutely. My parents are graciously paying for most of the wedding-related costs, but my Fiance bought a house last year, and we’re both in grad school, so even the little wedding-related purchases feel like they’re having a big impact on our wallets. Trying to keep your head above water financially is the worst feeling.

Yup! I’m with you on this one, we are totally broke plus we are renovating the basement at the same time, so really all the money we are trying to save is going towards this damn basement… arghh… hopefully by July 31st it’s complete and we can finally have some extra money for things.

Ditto. My Fiance and I are also both in grad school (graduating in 2 weeks!) getting our doctorates. Then we will take the boards (which is another huge load of $$$) and then the wedding, all with barely any income coming in. If I didn’t have my parents paying for most of the wedding we would be going to the city courthouse and then having Thai food takeout for our reception. Lol. This year is totally insane and we are super broke.

I feel ya! We are paying for the majority of the wedding ourselves, so we have been putting away literally HALF of our pay each month in a wedding account. It’s very sad to see your paycheque come in, and see half of it immediately leave 🙁

That’s how I feel! And we are trying to save up for a house and it’s just NEVER ENDING!

@raspberry bride: We are doing the same thing. Between saving and paying off our law school loans there is nothing left over. I’ve never made so much money and felt so broke.

My wedding is a year away and I am trying to accept that, for the next year, I literally will have no extra money. All of my money for the next year is already designated to go somewhere specific — either to bills, pay off CC debt, or the wedding.
We just bought a condo and I really want to decorate it and start doing some upgrades. I also need to save up for a new car because mine is on its last leg. But both of these are going to have to be put on the back burner for a while.

Yup. We’re right there with you. FI is barely employed and I pay all the bills. Saving is SO hard. We’ve had to cut back and cut out a lot of things. Like everything fun. Lol.

YEP! We’ve been doing pretty well so far, but there’s a few more things left to buy that we’ll just have to put on a credit card. It’s so hard because we’ve found a house that we both love. We don’t have a downpayment and we’re trying to get out of debt, but we still have a few more expenses that are pretty costly 🙁

I will be almost broke come the week before the wedding when all my vendor payments are due 🙁

BROKE AS HELLLL.
And paying for the house and student loans.

- Wedding: July 2012 - Walnut Beach Resort
I’m feeling it! We just bought a house last year so it’s hard not to keep buying things for it now that the wedding is less than 2 months away!
