Bridesmaid dresses was one of the first things I picked out, thinking that I needed to establish those first to know what my wedding color scheme should be. I wanted satin purple dresses, but was also open to midnight blue. Finding dresses that looked good on all three girls (very different body types) was a huge challenge, and somehow in the process of trying to make everyone happy (which I take full responsibility for XP) we ended up with royal blue, chiffon dresses:
I had never wanted royal blue as a color, and had really wanted satin dresses, not chiffon, lol. I really don’t know what I was thinking. I guess I was trying to please everyone, find something affordable, that also looked good on all three body types, and somehow in the process I forgot to make sure it was what I really wanted! I was in David’s Bridal, helping my mom find accessories, when we saw these gorgeous, satin purple dresses, which were exactly what I had really wanted:
My mom, knowing how unhappy I was with the original bridesmaid dresses, convinced me to let her buy them for the girls, since they had each girl’s size. We traded dresses with the girls, at no cost to them, and I paid my mom back because I didn’t want her shouldering the expense. I love our new dresses, but I feel a little crazy for replacing all of my bridesmaids dresses! Now I’m trying to sell the previous blue ones, and even though they are unaltered and still have their tags, I’ve had no luck, which makes me feel worse, lol. Has anyone else replaced their Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses? Anyone have luck selling their old ones? I worry about trying to sell them on a site that charges a listing fee, because I don’t want to lose more money on the dresses than I already have, Any advice?
