I don’t know what it is but I’ve never been fond of the color white, in ANY aspect. Whether it’s clothing, cars, or shoes….I just hate the color, with a passion. Now, i am and always have been a plus size girl, and I always lived by the rule “black is slimming, white isn’t forgiving!” So, I’m quite positive that is where my hate for white stemmed. I’m proudly in the process of dropping weight for our wedding this november, but at this point, I still have that “plus size girl” mindset. I know a large majority of brides choose white as their wedding dress, but because of my white dilemma I’ve always envisioned a cream/champagne color as MY dress. My family thinks I’m crazy for not being “traditional” and going down the usual route, but I first fell in love with my wedding dress because of its color. I love my dress all the way around, but I’m afraid that if I have it made in white/ivory, I’ll hate it. Maybe I’m putting too much thought and slight anxiety into this, but I’m honestly at a crossroads….
So, back to the initial purpose of this post ….
if ANY other brides have pictures of their dress in any other color besides white, I’d LOVE to see it!!! I’ll post mine as well, and any comments are welcomed. I appreciate EVERY one’s opinions!

I really like that dress. Anything in the pink/peach/cafe shade is forgiving.

@SandyToes: I’m glad you like it! A lot of my girlfriends prefer it in white, but I still can’t muster up the courage to do so. I just want this to look like a “wedding dress” and i’m afraid if i go with this color, it won’t to guests and family.

I was. I almost ordered my dress in baby pink but was worried about what the final product would look like and I know the swatch isn’t always the best indicator. I ended up going with a cream color b/c the white was SO white it had a blue hue to it.

I voted for ivory.
I’ve never been a fan of white. Something about being plus sized and a negative bidy image and this pesky frightmare about the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in tulle and taffeta. I haven’t seen any dresses I like in champagne, but I think it’s a beautiful color nonetheless.

That dress is gorgeous, and I think a champange colour would be amazing!
I’m wearing grey 🙂

I didn’t vote because I don’t have a dress yet, BUT I will be getting a champagne or cream dress because I look awkward in white (skin tone has yellow undertones) I just end up looking sick or yellowy lol I LOVE the color of that dress a LOT. I say go for it. It’s gorgeous and will look like a wedding dress still.

I went with ivory myself. White wasn’t flattering with my skin tone AT ALL.
I actually tried on a Champagne and a Blush dress, both of which looked soo much better than white on me.

I voted ivory/champagne, but if you don’t want a white dress and you don’t feel confortable in white, then don’t wear white. Have you looked at dresses that have embroidery/lace overlay in a color (other than white)?

My dress is champagne over light gold. I thought it was ivory over champagne when I ordered it, but it is actually light gold. I haven’t gotten it yet, but I really think I will like it and it will make it unique! I say go with the darker color and be remembered 🙂

I mainly chose white because I pictured my mother having a fit about a different color but seeing as how she is already crazy about this wedding I should have maybe gone for ivory

It still looks like a wedding dress! It doesn’t have to be white to be bridal. If you feel uncomfortable in white it will show. Get what will make you feel great!

i haven’t checked this post in quite awhile but i do appreciate EVERYONE’S opinions and comments!! it makes me SO happy that i have other peoples’ views to go off of
i ended up going with an “off ivory” from my dressmaker (which looks about 3 shades lighter than the picture i posted at the top). i’ve gotten a little tan from playing on my softball team this spring season, so the champagne blended too much with my skin tone. this “off ivory” pops and is a lot different than white.
again, thank you to each and every one of you!!!<3

I love your dress! i do not think some people can pull off white. To me, the most flattering color is like an ivory or cream. The color of the dress I will be getting (i haven’t bought it yet but can’t wait too!) is called champagne, but it doesn’t look as dark as yours. And the color of it looks different in natural light and salon light. So i am posting pic of both..lets hope WB doesn’t eat them!
