(Closed) anyone else diy-ing the food?

@Little_Hedgy:  I would probably just do meatballs.  The steaks will either get cold or continue to cook, neither of which are great.  My friend and her family did their own catering and the food was AMAZING!!  Plus I think it adds a special touch when the bride and groom incorporate their own recipes.

I had a caterer in for our main meal, but we did the evening buffet ourselves.

If I was to do it again… I really wouldn’t. It just wasn’t worth it! Sure, it was nicer than buying in sandwiches, but not that much nicer, plus, people were drunk by then and they wouldn’t have known the difference.

I would stick with just meatballs. I give you credit for doing your own food for your wedding. We considered it but realized with so many guests, we’d be too crazy to actually do it.

+1 on the meatballs and maybe plain grilled chicken TENDERS…to save on time and money.

We are DIY-ing our food as well since our wedding will be very small!
