So my Fiance and I decided to do one big joint bachelor & bachelorette party with all our friends in downtown Chicago (we live in Cincinnati, OH). My old roommate did this last year and it was SO much fun. Most of our friends are married and to be honest, we all have more fun with our SO. We are big partiers & drinkers so we just want to have fun! We are planning on the guys going golfing during the day, girls doing a spa day. Then both groups meeting up for dinner & a night out on the town.
Anyone else do this? What activities did you do?
(I know this is unconventional, but please no snarky comments about it. It’s something we BOTH agreed we wanted to do, has nothing to do with jealousy, we just enjoy each other and enjoy our friends & their SO as well. Thanks)

Here’s the way ours is going down:
Early afternoon: Girls get pedicures, guys play paintball (it’s a tradition amongst his guy friends)
Late afternoon: Joint cookout
Evening: All head to the casino together

We’re doing a joint party too, we have a lot of mutual friends and mixed-gendered groups of friends, so it really makes the most sense to do it that way

@rubybride718: I like your idea – the best of both worlds!

@mcgoo: It works well for us because all the couples are close. There’s not one wife that no one likes or one girl’s boyfriend that’s an asshole or anything like that. LOL

We really want to – we’ve already talked about as most of our friends are couples it makes sense to celebrate together. Plus this way my SO can pay for the drinks.
I say do your party your way and have fun!

@rubybride718: I think it would work well for us – I’ve got guy mates, he’s got girl mates & we would also love a joint party…. heaps of time for us to decide though, but it’s a great idea to think about.

We’re doing a joint party. We’re talking about going to an arcade/laser tag/bowling alley/mini golf place. It works better this way because I don’t have many female friends and he doesn’t want to do anything crazy for his bachelor’s party. Plus, we always have more fun when we’re together, so it just works better.

We’re tossing this around, too. I trust my guy but honestly I’m worried that his friends will want to incorporate strippers, putting my man in the awkward situation of having to walk out on his own bachelor party (those kinds of activities are not ok with either one of us). To save him and his friends the drama, we’re thinking about renting a houseboat and spending the weekend on the lake with our closest girl and guy friends. We also have a lot of mutual friends of both genders because we were on the same team in high school, so this just works out better all around.

We’re doing a co-ed bach. party, we’re just not sure what we want to do yet. My Maid/Matron of Honor wants to take us bar hopping but Fiance and I aren’t huge drinkers so I’m looking around for different options.

Girls did a day on the town with jewelry making and a mani and lunch out and some shopping and the guys did lunch at a great local brewery and we all met up after for food and then some late night bowling (guys against girls). It was a blast and involved a lot of our families as well (DH is very close with my dad).

We’re doing a wedding party weekend which will include paintball, go-karts and boating. We decided it would be fun to put the girls against the guys for paintball and go-karts. My BMs aren’t very girly so i’m pretty sure we’re going to kick some boy butt during the activities. The boating will also include water sports and plenty of beer, which is our usual weekends in the summer with our friends anyways. Just thought it would be more fun for us to get everybody together to party instead of splitting up and doing the typical bar scene.

@IUrebekah3RT: I live in Chicago and we are doing a joint party in vegas. I honestly feel as if that is the best way to go. I am so excited for this trip!

We had friends who did a Jack and Jill at Kings Island which was fun.
We really wanted to do a weekend in New Orleans. It’s where we went on our first vacation and we really love the city, plus there are so many options!
