Yes, experiences technicians can even tell on the 12-week ultrasound (even though they probably wouldn’t put money on it). Google “nub theory”, it’s actually really interesting!

Yes. We had a first ultrasound at 14 weeks, and the baby was stretching out and we could totally see it was a boy even before the tech told us… It was confirmed at our next ultrasound at 22 weeks. 🙂

10 weeks was too early to see anything, but at 15 weeks we could definitely see that it is a boy.

yep, at 12 weeks they predicted a boy and they were right!

i think they’re more likely to be right when they think it’s a boy – if they think they see boy parts poking out, its pretty likely there’s something there!

@MacFaniam24: I had the exact same experience at my 13 week ultrasound, and the doctor said the same thing word for word.  She gave us her guess, but I don’t believe it.  (She said girl, I think boy.)  I’ll let you know in a couple more weeks if she was correct or not.

At an ultrasound last week the tech asked me if I wanted to know baby’s sex…of course I said yes! She told me that it was very likely that baby is a _____, but I will find out this weekend at our private 3D ultrasound what we are having! (I was just shy of 14 weeks at this ultrasound). I have a lot of faith in the tech’s opinion but I also want to see for myself before I believe it! 🙂

I’ve heard of people finding out really early, but it’s not that reliable until 16 weeks.
