HAHAHA!!! That’s hilarious!
Thanks for the advice. I googled CIBC collections and found a number to call. I gave them my number and the number that I received the call from. The man I spoke to said my number wasn’t turning up in their system, so perhaps the agent looking for Josephine removed my number already. Fingers crossed that I won’t get any more calls from other collectors.

I had several over the course of a few weeks a while back. Fiance and I swtiched cell phone carriers, and I had to get a new number.
Some girl kept calling me asking for John, and I told her several times that I wasn’t John. She said “Whatever BITCH!” LOL – I just started ignoring the calls and she stopped eventually.

My Fiance has had his number less then a year and has received text messages of pictures of random kids on their first day of school and keeps getting one saying this is your mother and I am very upset so please call me back. This mother lady keeps sending random messages with personal info we never reply but she does not stop.

Oh I remember a story back when I had my old number. I was at my inlaws house and I got a phone call. I didn’t look at the screen to see who it was but when I answered the person said ‘hey baby’ so I thought it was my Fiance. I asked what was wrong with his voice because it sounded really weird. He said ‘nothing’. After a while, I asked ‘who is this?’ because I realized it wasn’t my Fiance. And then the guy kept going on saying ‘how can you treat me like this blah blah’. I told him he had the wrong number and hung up. The crazy guy kept calling me for hours and leaving messages saying I was a bitch!

It’s not. Go to the National Do Not Call registry and put your home and cell phone numbers on it. If you get a text again, you can report that company, and they can get slapped with a $15,000 penalty PER TEXT/PHONE CALL. Whenever I’ve threatened to report a company, they always comply. They can’t afford the fine.

Apparently my phone number belonged previously to someone in a lot of debt and I was tormented on a daily basis with calls from collection agnecies. They are not the most pleasant people in the world to talk to, especially when they are looking for a person who is not you and they won’t believe you. I had all kind of rough times before I downloaded a call blocking app on my cell – http://www.everycall.us/store/. No complaints have helped to stop the calls, so technology helped me at last. Maybe it will help someone else with a problem similar to mine 🙂

I do get calls from some random person often even though I’ve told him a few times it is a wrong number.
I also get calls asking for “bromeliads”. I finally did some google research and found out that a plant nursery has the same phone number I do with a different area code.

We get them ALOT like today someone from a grade school called (looking for someone different each call though.) Yesterday someone from peebles called. The day or so before someone from some other store called. A few weeks ago someone from like the probation office for underage kids called and I was like what the crap? And sometimes people from personal numbers call. They all ask for different people, but still it gets anoyyingggg. I don’t understand how our number gets mistaked for all these other peoples numbers?

The company I work for has the same initials as the company that controls the toll roads in the area. For example, the toll company might be called, “Dallas Toll Company,” and my company could be “Delicious Tortilla Company.” For that reason, we get several calls per week from people who are demanding to know why their toll tags aren’t working or why they got a ticket. We explain to them that they’ve got the wrong company, but there are always a few who get upset and don’t believe us. I talked to one about a month ago who got really pissed off, and he kept demanding that I help him and get rid of his ticket. The whole time, I was trying to give him the correct phone number, but he wouldn’t listen. I finally convinced him that I couldn’t help but would give him the right number, but then he demanded that I just transfer him. WTF?
