I have been working on my fabric bouquet since October and….it is not looking good.
I am feeling really disappointed with how it looks and almost tempted to trash the whole project and get real flowers, despite the countless hours I have spent on the project. My bridesmaids bouquets look lovely though at least! I’ll post pictures when I have a chance.
My other DIY diaster are my invites that I recently embossed. Didn’t quite turned out as I expected and reminds me very much of Disney! Sparkly blue invites and gold embossing
Any ladies out there disappointed in your diy skills?

@cheeseomelette: Date twin! I’m disappointed in my skills becasue I know I have none! But I wll try my best just to save some $$. I know my limits and I was going to have a friend help me with my flowers the week of the wedding by going to a wholesale floral place and getting them there. I didn’t need much. I ended up getting a really good quote from event company I’m renting linens from below what I had budgeted for DIY so I went with that instead. Sometimes DIY is not worth the hassle but you have to do a little legwork to figure that out. Sometimes it’s worth it, because I’m doing non-floral centerpieces, semi-DIY invites and saving money and not investing too much time so you just have to weigh it out. It’s different for everyone. Good luck!

I am having the same problem. I colud not find flowers in the colors I wanted, so I had to hand make the them. I made ribbon roses and the more I look at the bouquet the more i hate it.

Yes. Extremely disappointed and it hit home today while attempting to put together my invitations. At this point I wish I had ordered them.

No because I am aware of my limitations. Not all DIY saves money (sometimes it’s more expensive) and unless you are super crafty on a regular basis, your stress isn’t worth what you might save.

I have no DIY skills except for making bouts. Thats it. Thats all the craftiness I will attempt at my wedding. Its sad.

@Ember78: That’s KEY!!! If you know your limitations up front, you can save a lot of time, stress, and money.

lol I started to doubt my own paper flower bouquet and get really jealous of my Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets I had made… however once my own was finished i loved it! My plan was that if I still hated it to make one like the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets but with just ivory instead of orange and ivory and gold.
