@noritake22 I could see than not being what YOU wanted but think of it this way, at least it is whole, not-squished and looks profesionally done. If you hadn’t said how it wasn’t what you wanted, I wouldn’t have noticed anything wrong. And your guests didn’t know what it was SUPPOSED to look like. 🙂
Okay, HOW did that happen? It looks like you got someone else’s cake? Was it the right flavor?
Yall are making me nervous, we are setting up cake tastings this week!

@chasesgirl: That is true, but when you have a vision in your head and are told that is what you are getting and you don’t, it is very heartbreaking. No one but my husband, my planner, my photographer, and myself know that it was wrong, except for maybe the filling part because I listed that in our menus, so it was okay. It still makes me sad though. All I can think of when I see a picture of our cake is that it is wrong.
The tastings were awesome, so don’t worry about those. You probably won’t have any issues with your cake. If you do though, just remember this post 🙂

@chasesgirl: It was the right flavor and it was delicious. This lady has a nice website and my cousin has used her several times (never for a wedding cake). I seriously doubt that some of the work on the website is hers. Here’s the groom’s cake that got cut off in my previous post. If it didn’t say “Bud Light” would you have any idea what this was supposed to be?

Our cake was pretty much the only thing that went wrong at our wedding. I can’t upload pictures at work but I thought it was so ugly! It was supposed to have REAL yellow and ivory roses on it to match our bridesmaids bouquets and instead she just made frosting roses. The color of yellow was really ugly too. And then she put some weird glittery/clear sprinkle-type things on it. No idea where those came from. I’m still annoyed about it because the baker kept telling me how excited she was about the cake we chose and we even had a conversation about how she was going to remove the green leaves from the roses before she put them on the cake. No one else thought the cake was as ugly and Fiance and I did, but they also didn’t see what the cake was supposed to look like.

Wowza Wee_Spud, how on earth did that happen?? At least it does look tasty? 🙂
Here is the inspiration picture for ours:
And the flowers were going to look like this:
And this is what we got:
Now I can kind of see where she was going with the similarities between the second inspiration picture and ours…HOWEVER, when we were discussing this, she specifically gave us 2 separate prices, one for the first picture (which was much, much more expensive because of all the detail), and another for the second picture. We chose the first, more expensive picture because we wanted a more vintage feel, but asked to have the flowers look like how they do in the second cake. No problem she said. God knows what she would’ve given us if we had asked for the second cake….

@noritake22: I totally get the not being what you want! That would suck. She didn’t get the fillings right either?? Wow. That is lame.
Oh oh oh I know this one….it’s a big grey square?? At least they were tasty! It would have been truly tragic if it wasn’t what you wanted and didn’t taste good.
