Hi Ladies π
With my wedding now a month away, I’m a little down in the dumps about not looking exactly how I envisoned myself to look on my wedding day. Long story short, a combination of a PCOS diagnosis that came after a few pounds weight gain, and also being put on steroids to control my asthma, I’m dissapointed in the way I look.
I love my body (although I could stand to lose a few – who couldn’t? I do work out but PCOS is not an easy thing to lose weight with!) and I think I look great in my dress, but the thing that’s really bothering me is my face. From the smidge of a weight gain and the steriods, my face is super puffy and I feel like my eyes, which used to stand out so much and be my favorite feature, are now so small and almost hidden in the “puff”. I’ve also developed super dark bags under my eyes and dark eyelids but I’m hoping that that’s nothing a good makeup job can’t fix.
I can’t stop my medications, so for the next month until the wedding I’m going to cut out drinking all soda and see if that helps to “deflate” my face a little bit. Here’s comparison pics (don’t let my cutie patootie puppy fool you!)

Are there any other bees out there that are getting married soon not looking their best?

You are beautiful and I wouldn’t worry. Once you get your make-up nicely done, your eyes will stand out again. Plus, you’ll just be so glowing with happiness that you will look your best without even trying! π

I think you look amazing, but I can relate to how your feeling. I was working 60 hours a week and taking 20 credit hours to finish up my degree when I got married (my last final was the day before the wedding) and it was difficult to get myself “wedding ready.” I was stressed the entire time before I got married.
I look back on the photos now and I’m happy with what I see. I really feel I looked my best in them. Maybe I’m not the ideal weight- but I’m happy. My sister is getting married and she’s stressing about her weight- I don’t know why we do these things to ourselves.

OOOHH I love this post! My face has been breaking out lately and I don’t know why and its upsetting because I don’t feel my best at all. There is so much pressure to look PERFECT on this day and I’m stressing out that I won’t. (even though my Fiance says I’m gorgeous) Thanks for letting me vent π

Oh, and I think those pictures were just taken from different angles and in different lightings. I bet you have have hardly changed at all! (And in both of them you look gorgeous, as SoontobeMrsA says).

I have been telling myself to start dieting and working out but it’s definitely easier said than done. I’m going to be getting married at my heaviest and it’s very frusterating. All I can think about is all of the money that we’re spending on our pictures and video and I’m going to look like a cow.

I think you look absolutely radiant in both photos. You can totally hide little imperfections with decent makeup.
You sound like you take good care of yourself, so please don’t be down on yourself.
And I love your dog!

I think you look equally beautiful in both pictures. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Just remember, we really are our own worst critic. Everyone on your wedding day will only see the beautiful bride that you are.
