I am the type of personality that LOOOOVES to give gifts. I love the look on a person face when you give them something personal and meaningful. So, naturally I have been spending a lot of money on my girls. I set a limit for myself but I keep seeing so much cute stuff online and in stores that I want to buy them and I am very close to going over my limit with at least three more items I want to buy.
So far I have bought them:
Custom fabric flowers for their hair
Spray and lotion from bath and body works
Flip flops from Davids bridal that match their dresses
Going to make them thank you cards
Things I want to buy them still:
Tumblers for them to drink from when getting ready
personalized wine glasses
make a frame for them to place a wedding photo of us in later
…. And the list goes on and on the more I look at cute stuff on etsy and in the store.
Do you have the same problem? Lots of love, but not enough money.
What are you doing for your girls?
Do you think all of the things I want to get them is excessive?

@Firinne: You are such a generous bride!
I got my girls customized tumblers for iced coffee or whatever. (They’re the kind with lids and straws like the Starbucks cups, but hard plastic.)
Then I ordered them lariat necklaces on Etsy, each with a jewel and a little leaf that has their first initial on it. I still plan to use a VistaPrint Groupon for customized tote bags, which will probably relate to the wedding colors but not the wedding itself for reusability.
I had to stop myself from getting clutches and filling them with their timelines and “emergency” items like chapstick, deodorant remover, earring backs, hairspray, etc. etc. It’s such a cute idea, but it would have been another $200 probably.

I think it’s a lot, but of its not breaking the bank for you a very sweet gesture. I did notice that everything you are giving them is specifically related to use for your wedding though. Are any of the items just a nice thank you that they are likely to use again in the future?

@Utopia4us: well, that is why I wanted to get them the tumblers or wine glasses and the wristlets. So they could use them both on the day and in the future.

@anemonie: I wanted to get them custom tumblers, but I found some super cute ones at bed, bath and beyond and I have a gift card there so I was just going to get different styles. I should also say that I have a small bridal party, so I can make things more personalized.

i am in the same boat you are! i want to buy everything i see! i am getting (or want to get them) tumblers, a purse that suits their style, pink flask, earings..ive wanted to do the personalized hangers and the clutches with ballet flats in them, i also want to make them a day of survival kit…i have 6 bridesmaids so i am trying not to break the bank!

I didn’t get them a whole lot… but I was planning on going a lot simpler and cheaper than I did. Originally I was just going to get them shawls… yeaaa that turned into shawls, decorative wine glasses, engraved compacts, and probably something else I see and compulsively buy for them between now and the wedding… I have a gift giving problem as well. If I had more money, I would have also bought them about 10 other things I’ve seen in the store/online.

@MissKK: I wanted to get them flasks too but the ones I liked were like 40 bucks because they are made in ireland and have s hot glass in the middle that looks like a shamrock emblem! Then i started thinking about whether they would use them or not and so I just settled on getting them everyday stuff.
I am trying to space out my purchases so in case I find something later I still have some money. 🙂

@Woodstock: There are just too many cute things out there! I am trying to make some things myself, like the hangers and the frames, to save some money and to have something more sentimental. It’s like you can put a letter on anything and it can bea bridesmaid gift! haha Although, I am trying not to go that route with the personalization ( I only have three girls so it’s easier to just pick different styles). I am trying to rather pick things that they would like.

I can’t WAIT to spoil my bridesmaids!!
So far, I bought each of them a little something when asking them to be my BMs 🙂

O and I forgot I am getting them all matching masquerade masks because we are having a masquerade fall ball.

I did but I didn’t buy them lots of stuff I just ended up getting one very expensive necklace for all of them. I wanted them to have something they could keep, and that they would love to wear.

I wanted to spoil my girls, but it just wasn’t in the budget. Besides that, none of them have been very helpful in any aspect of the planning (late deposits on dresses, backing out of projects, getting wasted and making a$$es out of themselves at my bachelorette–I was completely sober, however–etc.), so I didn’t feel the need to ‘reward’ them, or ‘thank’ them for much.
That being said, they ended up with necklaces, sunglasses (to match the necklaces), and engraved champagne flutes.

Haha I’m the same way, as of right now I mad ehtem personalized totes which I am planning on filling with stuff as a wedding-day emergency kit, I also made hair-pieces for the wedding and personalized hangers for the wedding. I also got them clutches with their initials on them and wine glasses with their names etched in that will be at the reception but they will take them home with them…
I keep seeing more stuff I want to get them like robes, tumblers and/or coffee mugs, and jewelry but I just can’t spend that much 🙁

@Firinne: I’m the same way! I loooove gifting.
So far I have:
Chevron makeup bags that will have “emergency” kits
Tumblers with lids
Flasks (I’m giving those at the bachelorette party)
I’m also getting them either flip flops or flats in case they want to take their heels off but don’t want to be barefoot
I also got each girl something individual that speaks to their personality (more of what I would give for a birthday or Christmas).
