I love the simplicity of just a band sometimes!

I have a few that I wear alone, I actually find it more comfortable this way

I’m wearing my engagement ring until I get married. Once I’m married I will just wear a wedding band. I don’t like having a protruding stone on my hand, as I find it annoying and in the way. My finace  knew this so he bought a relatively “cheap” engagement ring, but we are spending quite a lot on our wedding bands since those are what we will wear everyday. Apparantly this is not a popular route to go on because I had many friends and family SHOCKED that once married I wouldn’t be wearing my engagement ring. I’ve had people actually try and talk me out of it.

caribcurls :  We went to a local jeweler, too, and she told me “100% of my brides want bands with stones in them.” Okay, not me.

mrs2014 :  I really like your plain band. May I ask what width and metal it is and where you bought it from? Is it comfort fit? It really is perfect. 😊

spontoise :

Nor me. Nothing says ‘married’ to me like a plain metal band does.  And idk why but I find a wedding ring on a man  – of any age at all – pleasing and attractive.

I LOVE the look of a “plain” (worst word to describe it. I’d use ‘unadorned’, but frankly, I love the touches of milgrain or delicate scrollwork as well) gold wedding band. I really, really, struggled with this way back when my Fiance and I were planning what to get (in terms of an e-ring). I ultimately decided not to go the way of the solid band, but we decided for a special anniversary I’d get my big solid chunky band then. What I’d like is an 8mm (I have extremely long fingers) yellow or rose gold band to wear as an alternative, and to get it engraved with something special as well. My current rings are too slim to engrave, so I anticipate saving that for that makes it unique, too.

To wit, yes. When I see a woman with a simple yellow band, I get a bigger pang of wistful romantical feelings than I ever do for a woman with a rock. Funny, that!

caribcurls :  Oh my! that is gorgeous! I love the milgrain details, too! I have an engagement ring with a matching curved diamond band, but I also have a plain gold band which I wear quite frequently.  I think plain gold bands are so romantic!

Can I ask where you purchased yours?
