thinspirationbee :  Clearly, you like logo and monogram bags. So you should buy a logo or monogram bag. Why are you so concerned with what random people think of a bag if its what YOU like?

thinspirationbee :  I dont think the square (DE) pattern is as in your face unless you just know the brand. I’ve had people ask me where I got it from when I carry it before, so not everyone knows it immediately as LV.  I don’t wear light color anything so I’m not a fan of white anything.  All the little pieces are wallet, little pouch for little misc things, key pouch, coin pouch type things.

socalgirl1689 :  I dont like white anything, so I’m not a fan of DA.  I don’t like the vachetta cause I always seem to be caught out in the rain at one point or another and water drop on it is so noticible and bugs me.  Also color transfer can be bag with DA, if you are wearing dark jeans a lot and your white DA rub against your leg when carrying, the color can trasnfer.  (This is what my friend told me who has a lot of the DA.  But she doesnt care since she loves white.)

Souzie :  Good to see you too, my dear! Yeah…I know Hermes is iconic for a reason, but their bags just seem so overrated to me. I do love Hermes scarves and jewelry and their random accessories like beach towels.

OMG yess!! Thank you for starting this thread! I am currently eyeing the Chanel reissue (225 or 226 size, black with ruthenium hardware). This was a bag that I told myself YEARS ago that I wanted when I graduated college. I finally graduated last year (took quite a long time), so I am now actively pursuing it. However, I am totally in shock about the OBSCENE price increase from when I was first looking at the bag, it’s gone up THOUSANDS.

brucebogtrotter :  Haha I knew someone would misunderstand. It is not that I care what others think, per se, but I do think that we all think about how we will be percieved by others in how we dress ourselfes etc? Otherwise we would all be walking around in comfy pants all day, am i right?

It is more about how I feel. And I think it is quite tasteless to be showy, as I said. And I would feel showy walking around like a gucci/lv ad. Haha. That might not make sense to you, but it does in my head, and that is why I am bothered by it. I don’t care if you specifically would care or not.

And to be more clear about my preferences, I like the gorgeous color of the gucci, it is the most beautiful shade of beige I can ever imagine. It just suits me and my skintone very well. Better than anything iIve ever tried on. But I don’t like it being the gucci monogram, if it would not have the monogram I would buy it right away. I have a hard time deciding if I should buy that specific gucci one, because of its design, and COLOR, or if I would get tired of it being monogrammed. The reason I am unsure is because I love the COLOR (not pattern), and I think the type of bag (size, shoulder strap, model) would be very useful to me, and the other COLORS are not as nice, even though I prefer them out of the aspect of them being made in one solid color. I am veeery very very color sensitive! I tried the most alike color version in store, cause I had planned on buying it, but it wasn’t as nice on me at all as the color of the monogram. unfortunately. But I might go with that one, but I am not sure, since well, the color is not 100% right. So annoying!

But I still am indecisive about if it is this model that will be my first, or i’ll buy some of the other bags that I am sooo deeply in love with, that doesn’t have any irritating monogram on them. They come in beautiful colors (none as beautiful, but nice colors!), but they are more like the bags I allready own, type wise! :/ I will definately buy them, as soon as I can afford them all, I am just trying to decide which will be my first one! But those that I have in mind I need to own or I will die! πŸ™‚

As for the Malene birger that I own, that was a gift, very apprechiated, and I think it is chick and sporty, but not I would want to carry every day as it would not suite my style. And it is practically not monogrammed, it just is a signature pattern, so I would not compare it to rubbing, say LV or gucci in everyones face! If it would have had the brand name written all over it I would probably be quite annoyed over the fact. But now, it is just a pretty pattern! πŸ™‚

brucebogtrotter :  And clearly, I have been very open about not prefering mongrammed ones, and the only monogrammed one ive said I like is the gucci, in which i am bothered by the monogram. So I don’t quite understand why I should buy alot of monogramed ones when I am clearly not preferring them? Haha. I really have a hard time letting that beautiful gucci color go, though. This is really hard cause I am really not a fan of it being monogrammed! Haha.

And for the ones with a signature pattern that I mentioned liking, as for the LV-squared ones, as I said, I don’t care for the monogramed ones, I do think the dark brown and the white are less “in your face” than to mongrammed ones. Just like, say, a chanel, everyone knows it is a chanel without it having CHANEL written all over it! πŸ˜€

I worked for Nordstrom for 5 years. Always said I was going to use my discount for a Chanel, but it never happened.

My most interesting bag is my Alexander McQueen, love the detail and the quality of leather but it’s too heavy so currently have it posted on posh:

Sorry I don’t have pretty pics lol

Ive sold off or have listed a few in the past, slightly regret getting rid of my Balenciaga. Still debating my Burberry Manor.

I love my LV and YSL and will probably keep those.

I’m a LV ( bags and personal accessories) Hermes accessories and Chanel (shoes) addict. I buy most of it with Am Ex points or when I’m in Europe, so I get most of it significantly less than US prices. Also keep them for years so based on cost per wear, definitely get my money’s worth. Because the Euro is so low right now, going to Paris in a few weeks for a major shopping trip.

socalgirl1689 :  It is on my wishlist, but I have a whole bunch of absolutely amazing designer bags that I will buy before I get to it, that I will get more use of/suits my current wardrobe better!

But I will indeed get the damier or azur (that’s what the white one is called, isnt it?) at some point! πŸ™‚ Neverfull was my dream bag when I was around 18 (10 years ago), so I feel a bit attached to it for sentimental reasons! πŸ˜€

The main reason I ever brought up that bag in this thread was because of pinkshoes impressive collection of LV a few pages back! Take a look at that! πŸ˜€

But it is not something I am currently eyeing, but it was indeed my first real designer bag crush! πŸ™‚

thinspirationbee :  Damier azur is the white checkered pattern with light bluish-gray. Damier ebene is the lighter brown and darker brown checkered pattern. I’ve been  checking out damier azur in delightful style online since I woke up today but I’m kinda worried since pinkshoes brought up that whole vachetta thing. My mom has speedy bags in both damier colors. I’m just waiting for her to get tired of them so I can have them already! LOL

pinkshoes :  I’d like to at least get one DA in delightful but I’m a bit wary now frown…this one girl I know said she’s paranoid too (rain) when she uses her DA speedy almost to the point that she doesn’t even know why she bought it if she’ll just have it sitting in her closet.

If you are worried about the color change you should go for the ebene! Ive seen lots of azur and monogrammed bags get a very dark mustard meets orange-y color, if you don’t like that then it is really not worth buying any of them other than the ebene!
