Yes, I have a friend like this. While I’m super happy for them. I do not understand the obsession with putting everything one does on facebook. Why do people think that other people care that much about their lives? I don’t even think the things which I do are that important to me.

I’ve got one that constantly posts about being on diets and working out and trying to lose weight … and then also constantly posts recipes for things like apple pie and ribs with captions like “got this on for dinner!”  Honestly I don’t think she understands how weight loss works. She thinks that if you made it at home from scratch, it’s healthy. No matter what it is or what’s in it. So that is pretty annoying for multiple reasons, haha.

Maybe it helps keep her motivated?  Maybe she is using that as her log? I really could care less what people post. It’s easy enough to just not read it if I don’t care.

My thoughts on social media? Facebook should only be updated once or twice a day unless some major life event just happened. Otherwise, keep your hourly diary on Twitter where it’s more acceptable to update more often. But that’s my personal “how to use social media”…and the people I know who use Facebook as a personal log, I just unfollow their feed so it’s no big deal

Generally, I don’t care. I had to unfriend somebody for that. Not that she was posting her workouts multiple times per day (which was annoying enough) but her statuses and photo comments were so rude and inflammatory. Every picture, she was making a muscle saying “get like me,” or she was posing in the gym with a comment that said “you’re obviously jealous. Dah well, not MY fault you can’t afford a personal trainer.” I happen to know that girl has serious self esteem issues (she had an eating disorder for years) and compensates by acting like a prick. She seems to be working out not solely to better herself, but to have something to rub in everyone else’s face. So even though I get the underlying reason why she’s so insulting/offensive (she can’t help it, she’s sick) that doesn’t mean I want to see it everyday.

i  think people  put way too much effort into caring so  much about what other people are doing.  just block her posts from your feed if it bothers you that much. who cares? shes  living her life so  you should live yours!  It  shouldn’t effect you  that much.

I post my walk/run to facebook. It’s motivating for me, and as someone who has struggled with losing weight I really needed to find the right thing to motivate me. If someone doesn’t like it they can block posts from that app.

Now, that being said, sounds like your friend does waaay more than that. It might be annoying, but I would just hide her posts in that case.

@Cory_loves_this_girl:  …ooooooh yes!  My best friend, who is also a guy, got it over with, went on steroids and pumped some serious iron over the last three months and is all kinds of ripped…but all the dangerously lewd selfies he keeps putting on FB about what he lost, how much muscle he gained and the before and after pics…yeah, I don’t want or need to see that…one of them is in danger of exposing the neck of his cock to the entire news feed..

P.S. – No one knows about the roids…and he’s going off them…so he’s going to flab back out anyway….but got am I sick of looking at his lats already

I have a few friends who do it on FB, but I also have co-workers in my department who also do it. It bothers me more at work as a lot of my co-workers will jump on the bandwagon of whatever xyz person is doing or eating (ie: the master cleanse), and it’s talked about constantly, etc.

@Cory_loves_this_girl:  Yesssss! And even worse every pic is a “God I look so fat in this pic” and I’m not kidding you, the girl weighs about 90 lbs.! I used to tell her to stop trashing herself because she is not fat. But after a while I just couldn’t care anymore. She posts 100 duckfaced pics and wears skin tight clothes, 100 posts about working out and taking diet pills. I think she’s just an attention monger.
