…My name has always been really difficult to pronounce. As I won’t see the Officiant before walking down the aisle I wanted to leave it to Fiance to relay the info to the Officiant. Only problem is, 90% of people, even when they’re told how to say it, just can’t pronounce it and it comes out sounding odd….any suggestions on how to fix this / anyone had a similar problem? Pronounced wrong, my name can sound horrible so I really don’t want to be embarrassed on the day :/

ME!
I have a long 3 syllable name with hindu roots… I think i’m the only one with the name in the whole world – only I pop up in a google search.
I’ve had this issue my entire life. What I started doing since high school is literally given people lessons in how to say my name.
1st syllable ________ – rhymes with ___________
2nd syllable ___________ – rhymes with ___________
3rd syllable pronounced like __________
When i graduated the person who called out names phoned me to find out how to pronounce my name – I was super appreciative.
I’d call your offiant as well as pop him an email before the day just to make sure he”ll get it right.

@ms_protea:
They told us that we don’t get to meet with them until the day of the wedding…..I could try ringing closer to the time i guess….thanks for the suggestion.
I don’t think my name is that hard to say, I just don’t get why so many people struggle!
