I was perfectly fine wearing my engagement ring for a year… then when we got married and I added a band… it just felt uncomfortable. I feel like if I take the one ring off and just wear my engagement ring all the time, I have no problems, but the two together feel tight and almost constricting. We’ve been married 4 months, so I thought I would be used to this by now, but I am not. Anyone else have this problem, and if yes, what did you do to help? Is this uncommon? Here is a photo to show the thickness of the bands.. which I do not think is very thick?!

Maybe they’re too small or your shanks are just too bulky for your liking. They’re very pretty, so I hope you can figure out a solution.

abigailelizabeth919: I had the same problem as you and ended up taking my band in for resizing. It should be 1/2 to 1 size larger than the engagement ring because when you wear them togehter, it changes the fit for some reason.

Billsgirl: so which band is supposed to be slightly larger? I had no idea! lol… Oh i just re-read your comment and you said the band should be larger than engagment ring. I think I will do that! Thanks! You feel like yours is more comfortable now/not loose?

It’s a lot of ring. You may feel more comfortable wearing them on separate hands. I wear mine separately, because I don’t like the way they look together and they attract too much attention. I live in New York City and ride the subway everywhere.

My ring finger is a 5 but I had both my e-ring and band made as 5.5 and it was a huge help when wearing them together!

You have a beautiful set!
I will be married 3 months tomorrow and I still have trouble getting used to wearing 2 rings. Like you, 1 ring was fine but for some reason 2 feels uncomfortable, and my bands are thinner than yours.
A couple of my friends told me it took them a while to get used to wearing 2 rings. My w-band is prong set so that could be the problem. I think I will have to get it sized up because that seems to bug me more than the e-ring, which has a smooth shank.

It can really depend on the set. A friend of mine has a band either side of her e-ring and all her rings are slightly different sizes getting larger the further up they go on her finger from 5-5.25-5.5, while when I put on my band and e-ring (both size 5) I have no problems. But if I were to add another band, it makes it very uncomfortable. Part of the reason I decided against more than one plus I just didn’t like the look with my e-ring.

thirdtimeisthecharm: So you wore your engagement ring at a size 5, but then when you added the band, you changed them both to 5.5?
