I just had a bit of a melt down with my Fiance about everything that still needed to be done that wasnt getting done…. Then it hit me…. It was my fault for not letting people help me. I have been being a bit of a control freak about the details and have been telling myself that I can do it all on my own. My Fiance was great and talked me through it all and took on several responsiblites that I had been freaking about. I’m so greatful for him! I just need to learn to let go and get better about delegating authority! Never been my cup of tea… Anyone else having isues with this???

I know I did. I inherited my mom’s need for perfection in the creative stuff like baking, DIY, etc. It was REALLY hard for me to ask for my mom and hubby to help me with things like baking cookies and making programs. Once I DID I realized that it made my life sooooo much easier at a crazy time and was glad that I did and so grateful for any help they offered!

I know what you mean. My bridesmaids keep telling me “let me know if you need me to do anything” and I always tell them I’ve got it under control, and it’s mainly because, yeah, I’m a control freak and I don’t want to ask someone to do something and have it end up all wrong. The banquet manager at our venue has even said she’ll basically act as my DOC and set up all my decor and everything for me. It was a relief at first but then I started freaking out that I won’t be able to explain it all properly and it won’t be done right. So I’m trying to figure out if I’ll have time in the morning to set up everything myself! It’s pretty bad.
One thing I do delegate well is phone calls. I keep making my Fiance call vendors because I have a weird almost-phobia about making phone calls. Of course, he doesn’t like phones either so it usually turns into an argument…

my problem is im a control freak and i would much prefer to just get things done myself than rely on anyone else
do you have someone you can trust to help you? im a bit of a can-do’er so i usually end up being the go to person – hence my current job of MOH and keeping the bride on track, she knows she can depend me

I prefer to do most things myself. I dont wanna delegate to someone else because I know they wont take it as seriously as I do.
