@cgraceh: I hope I’m not crazy for this but I was considering each bridesmaid (I have 7!) in one of the colors, with some overlap of course since there aren’t 7 colors. This isn’t set in stone yet because they haven’t ordered dresses yet but we are awaiting fabric swatches to come from the dress maker so we’ll see. We’ve opted for the convertible dress since it’s a great value because it can be worn a number of different ways, even after the wedding. My ceremony and reception are both outdoors in a beautiful little garden area so we like the feel of them for this setting as well. I think I like ruby and amethyst as my base colors as well so we’ll just go from there. I’ve collecetd enough brooches and I will begin constructing soon! I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for the feedback!

My Future Sister-In-Law had a jewel-toned wedding. The bridesmaids wore little black dresses with purple boquets, and the MOBs & grandmothers wore jewel-toned dresses, like blue, green, copper, etc. The pictures looked so great! The aisle was decorated with peacock feathers for the ceremony.

I would suggest colored votives & peacock feathers for decor. Try to focus on two colors with some complementary accompanying colors. Like perhaps blue and green or green and purple with copper or silver undertones.

@jaregis87: That’s what I want to do! I have three bridesmaids, so I am going to do my three colors. To keep it more cohesive, their dresses are going to be the same fabric as my dress (luxe taffeta), and the bottom of their dresses have a similar detail to my dress. I’m so glad I’m not the only one doing this!!
