The Savannah board is dead and I really want to get some advice from other brides planning Savannah weddings. I can’t pick a venue for the life of me. If you’re having a Savannah wedding please show me your venue!

@MrsKessler: Yay! I see you live in Atlanta too! Double Yay! I’m thinking about the Charles Morris Center. Have you booked any other vendors yet?

I am. I am also in Atlanta. My venue is the Georgia Railroad Musuem. They use creative catering as the cater so Im going with them. I have a photographer from out of state so that is pretty much my budget hiring that photographer. I am having trouble finding an affordable dj. They are all over $750. I have the money and find it hard to pay someone that kind of money for a playlist on a labtop. Urban Poppy florist seems like the florist to go to. Im doing my own flowers but they did a friend of mines wedding at the Mackey House and it was amazing. I am still looking into bakeries for my cake.

@Seaminglyseamstress: I haven’t even started looking for a DJ, but that is depressing. Who are you using as your photographer? I think I might go with Scott Hopkins, but definitely a little over budget.

I like the look of Urban Poppy, but they are quite pricey. I’d like to stay as close as I can to $1000 on flowers.

Well… I’m not getting married in Savannah, but I’m having a Savannah wedding, since my name is Savannah :).
Savannah is a lovely city, and I would get married there in a heartbeat if I didn’t live in Cali with the rest of my family in Florida. My friend got married there, and her wedding was amazing.

Hi! I’m getting married in Savannah this October. My venue is at Savannah Station. But after I booked, I went to a tasting for my caterer at a wedding at the Ships of the Sea Museum. It’s beautiful!!–I had a little venue regret but Savannah Station is still beautiful.
Here are my vendors:
Caterer: Nick Muller & Co
Flowers: A to Zinnias
Photog: Memories and More
Chair rentals: Ranco (we are getting married at Forsyth)
DJ and Day of Coordinator: All About You
Hair and Make up: Beyond Beautiful by Heather
Transportation: Old Savannah Trolley
I love all my vendors, they are really sweet people. If you want more details, PM me.

@dancindavinci: Hi!!! I’m planning a Savannah wedding too – but I’m in the infancy stages of planning. I don’t live in the area any more – but I went to school there. I don’t have anything worthwhile to contribute at the moment, but I would love to connect with other brides and anyone really doing a wedding in Savannah, GA!

@PennyLove5: I’ve been doing TONS of research on Savannah Venues lately — what kind of place are you looking for and what type of event do you want to have? I’m happy to share with you everything I’ve found since I’m in the same venue selecting boat!

My fiance and I originally planned for a savannah wedding… We got a wedding planner and everything. When we went to meet up with him and talk about options he had pictures GALORE in his studio… I saw one picture on the beach (tybee) in front of a lighthouse; and my mind was changed! That moment! We set it up:))
Savannah in general is a beautiful city!! I was planning for The Mackey House… but that one picture on the beach changed my whole view!!
Where ever you choose in Savannah will be PERFECT!
Good Luck!

Here’s my venue… St. Lukes Lutheran Church. It is on the outskirts of downtown, in Thunderbolt, GA. Rev. Steve Schulte (a very popular officiant–google A Wedding for Two) is the minister at this church. They usually charge around $500, same as Bethesda Home for Boys Chapel (where Paula Deen had her TV wedding ceremony when she married Michael).

@southernbrideGA: Could you provide details on your flower? I am debating on doing my own, but I am afraid it will just be too much to stress about. Any info you could provide about A to Zinnias is really appreciated! Thanks!
