They did an article about it yesterday in the news. All dresses only $299. Unfortunately this wasn’t planned, I’m taking the afternoon off work anyway and the shop that’s open is nearby, but still, I’m in bright pink undies today lol. Oh well, my mom is game, ao I’m picking her up in the way.
Is anyone else going to try and find something?

- Wedding: April 2016 - Manhattan, NY
The Alfred Angelo in my area closed suddenly, leaving a lot of people without dresses that they paid for or had paid deposits on. If you find something good, be prepared to leave with it that day and have the alterations done elsewhere. One of my co-workers had bought a dress for her son’s wedding and had no way of getting her dress once they closed their doors, meaning she had to go out and buy a new one. I wouldn’t buy anything from them because of the way they handled the situation.

What! That’s crazy! I think we’ll go for the try on though. I already have my dress(don’t love it, but like it well enough), but it’s fun to try them on and I reckon at a sale like this, I don’t have to feel guilty for wasting a salesperson’s time.

Sorry for the double post. The sale was crazy busy, but I didn’t see anything worth even trying on. It was picked over already. Oh well, we ran over to a nearby consignment shop and I was the only bride there. I ended up really liking a non fluffy ballgown on me. Although my fav was one I never would have picked out normally. It was the Casablanca 1874. It’s definitely fitted and so pretty. It’s a 10yr old design. The one in the shop in an ivory multicolored. What does multicolored mean? It means rose and sage green. Here’s some online pics. The shop didn’t allow us to take pics though. I will say this style is very flattering on me and I’m totally pear shaped.
I didn’t buy it because it was an inch or so short, you could see my feet, plus I love it for being really unique and being flattering, but I prefer my $20 eBay Morilee. For me to buy another dress, I’d have to like it enough to use it rather than the Morilee.

I actually went and couldn’t find any thing good. No sales people and the dresses were all mixed I’m together. And not much help with fitting.
