Yes! I’m pretty sure she’s trying to kick out one of my ribs ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, my OB usually doesn’t let her patients go past 41 weeks, and I really don’t want to be induced, so I’d rather baby come early than late.

I totally understand how you ladies are feeling.

I didn’t do late pregnancy well and was miserable.  My babies were born at 34, 35, and 38 weeks and ranged from 5 to just over 8 pounds.  All were healthy.  Only the earliest one stayed overnight in the NICU — just to be monitored.  I cannot begin to imagine what it is like to be past my due date.

You know, my gut all along was that baby would come before or on his due date. But now I’m afraid I jinxed things & that’s why we’re having this pre-term labor scare situation. (I mean, I know I didn’t actually jinx it, but still.) Anyway, I really don’t want baby to come out before he’s fully cooked, and I’m trying to have faith that my body can keep him cooking just a few more weeks… but I also hope he won’t go past due! After delivering early, delivering late is my biggest fear! My prayer is something like “Happy medium, God. Please, happy medium. 37 weeks sounds GREAT to me, how about you?”

I’ve heard it’s not uncommon for women with pre-labor scares like mine who are put on the same treatment end up going past their due dates and having to be induced because everything worked all too well in preventing labor. —> Inducing, going past due—> labor scenario I fear most after delivering early. DH was born at 41.5 wks at 9.5lbs, and our baby boy is measuring big with an even bigger head.  Once he’s fully cooked, I want him OUT so that I’m not pushing out a 9lb+ kid with a bowling ball head.

right on time or a tad early – so long as he’s healthy – would be fine by me! I’m due 12/15 and would like him born with enough time before Christmas.

Oh Lord~ I think we all hit that wall at the end!  I was willing my water to break and I didn’t care if I was in the middle of dinner at a restaurant… I just wanted to have that baby!  My ankles were swollen, I couldn’t sleep, and I actually got bruises on my hips from laying on my side (cuz you can’t lay on your back).  Hang in there, Momma!!  You’ll be holding that baby soon!  ๐Ÿ™‚

DS came 10 days early and it was perfect- late enough that he was “fully cooked” (he was almost 8 lbs) and that we were pretty much ready for him, but early enough that I wasn’t getting the “haven’t you had the baby yet?” barrage of questions or so desperate to be done that I was ready to reach up in there and pull him out with my bare hands.

@red_seattle: This was me. I started going into labor at 35 weeks after moving houses, and needed shots to stop my contractions. She then decided to stick around, and I had to be induced at 40w4d. The induction really wasn’t bad though. She came out 100% healthy, and is eating well and gaining weight like a pro!

Dear Daughter was born on her due date and I hadn’t even started waiting yet. I was fully prepared for her to be overdue at least a week so in my mind she was a little early. She was born on a Friday and we had planned to install the car seat that weekend.. Fiance had to drive home to get it before we could go home.

38 weeks today.  Been having contractions since Monday evening.  They are decent ones but aren’t on a pattern yet.  Maybe 2 an hour.  I have a feeling this sucker is coming early…my mom is convinced this weekend.

My doula is convinced I’m going early – and quite frankly I’m worried because now that she got me all excited over it I just KNOW I’m going to still be pregnant at like 42 weeks lol.

Hang in there Sprague! (and StbHisMrs and Octobermom) we’re all in it together!

@spraguebride:  I’ll be 37 weeks on Tuesday, and I do and I don’t want her to come early.  I do because I’m so excited to meet her.  I don’t because I’m really enjoying being pregnant, and besides, my husband and I aren’t exactly ready.  Also, yesterday was my last day of work and I’m kind of hoping to be able to enjoy a couple of weeks of not working for the first time since age 16.

I hope you are able to find some peace with your discomfort and begin to feel good.

@spraguebride: I think the only people that will think that about this post are women who have never had a child, lol!

I am so done with waking up in the middle of the night because I have to peerightnow but yet have to propel myself out of bed where I have to stand up cautiously because of my back pain, and hold on to the wall for the first few steps because my hips are KILLING me from having to sleep on my side. Then I wake up in the morning with such intense shoulder pain from the side sleeping it leaves me with a tension headache for the rest of the day.

OK, rant over ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so blessed to have this opportunity to have a child.
