I am almost at 27 weeks and I am in constant pain. Perhaps it is my age, weight, this particular pregnancy. I don’t remember going through all this when I had my son 13 years ago. Between my sciatic pain, lower back pain, pelvic pain, and the baby kicking parts of me that were never meant to be kicked (I think an ovary got taken out yesterday) I am like a walking talking ad for not ever having children…lol.
Please tell me I am not the only one going through some of this. My first pregnancy (at 19) was a dream except for premature labor. Now I am getting shots so that premie labor doesn’t happen again, have had kidney stones, need to go see a chiropractor, and the list goes on… I am just miserable today and yesterday was worse and feel like complaining. Anyone else?

I am 37 and going through my first pregnancy and am 25 weeks along. Only real pain I have had is my hips when I try to sleep. I do have one those pillows for between the legs but that really doesn’t help. There was a little back pain not to long ago but that really is gone now.
Though the baby kicks alot! Nothing painful just after few hours of constant kicking makes me feel like a punching bag.

My first pregnancy was like that. I was terrible. No matter what I did i just kept racking up the pounds and at about 5 mths my sciatic nerve went nuts… they told me walking would help but most days I was in so much pain I couldn’t bring myself to walk much more than a few feet at a time. I was hot like all get out and spent most of my days in my skivvies on our futon (set down to a bed). I rolled around to get up from the couch and for 2 mths DS liked sitting right on my left hip which didn’t help the back pain at all. Overall physically miserable. I definitely feel your pain. Hope you do find some relief soon…..
Have you tried prenatal yoga for the sciatic nerve? Doing the pelvic grinds and stretches did REALLY help…. I just got to overwhelmed and stopped doing them. lol

The doc suggested a chiropractor if it gets too bad. I am trying not to take meds as much as possible but some days I am definitely popping a pill or two. There are days when I roll over in my sleep and wake up because it hurts.
@runsyellowlites: I have never tried yoga but I will look into it. And as for walking it definitely hurts if I walk too much or for too long. Some days I have to walk three blocks to work and by the time I get to the building then into my office my back starts screaming. I sit all day so you would think that would be no pressure on it. lol I have not gained much weight so far….only 10 lbs so that is not bad. But I am overweight to begin with so I am trying to keep it down.

I have been in similar pain for weeks as well. I’m 38 weeks and I can’t remember the last time I felt comfortable. I don’t sleep because I’m in so much pain, I can’t find a comfortable position. I have had sciatic pain since early on but it was fleeting. It’s gotten worse and is now consistent, along with just pain throughout my entire vaginal area. I suppose that part is a good thing, it means the baby is doing what she should be doing but it’s excurciating and I am so sick of walking around like a scary zombie.

I had my first pregnancy 8 years ago and I think this one is worse… but maybe I just blocked it out from last time? 😉

I’m 35wks and Yes, I have constant pelvic pain, enough that last night I felt popping! I can’t sleep, can barely walk and my legs are constantly swollen. 🙁
I have to roll out of the bed, and each time I do, the pelvic shooting pain!

Why is it that people never mention or just gloss over these things? The most I have heard is that there might be some discomfort in the pelvic region while the bones prepare for the birth. If this is discomfort then I am scared for when I am in labor again. lol
Does a heating pad or ice help anyone else with the sciatic? I have not had any luck with either. I have not heard of anything that might help with the pelvic pain. When did it start bothering you ladies that are having that problem now? A few weeks or a few months? I am a little concerned since this baby is predisposed to come early and you ladies are at/near term. I have my monthly doc appt on Monday and plan on bringing it up then. I go to my 2 week appts after that so hopefully it is normal and not something that will have to be monitored.
