heatdisneybride :  Because I’m not from the States and I think it would be a lot of customs & duties so I need to travel, I got a seamstress that JLM Couture recommended to me in LA I hope I can go there so we can start making the alterations in December and they can ship it to me there. That’s a nice suggestion I’ll ask about a picture thanks!!

almk87 :  I’m with you too, I’m so scared about alterations because I’m losing weight and it think its going to be difficult to take it in because of the illusion neckline and the sleeves and I don’t know how is she going to make it shorter without losing the flower pattern of the skirt.

Omg I had the exact same thing! The dress I tried on was ivory over ivory, which I loved in store and ordered, but ALL the model pics online are ivory over champagne. I had a full scale panic the next day but then found a real life pic of someone in the darker one and decided I much preferred mine in ivory. Obviously it’s personal choice but to me, ivory over ivory is beautiful and crisp, and the details will still show. I’m going to brief my photographer too so we don’t have any blown out photos πŸ˜‚

(Neither people are me – I found them both online):

heatdisneybride :  I totally get your worry – this is exactly what I was worried about too. I think I spent about 3 hour scouring the internet to find that picture on the right hand side of the dress in all ivory. I even messaged the woman who posted it (in Norway) who kindly sent me some other shots of her and also her friend wearing it!

I did some searching for your dress (I love a challenge!), but you’re right – it is mostly shown in ivory over champagne. There’s even a whole blog on the dress in this colour! You’ve probably seen it but just in case you haven’t: https://www.strutbridalsalon.com/lace-and-horsehair-wedding-dress/

My guess is that it will look like that one, but less of a yellow tone and probably slightly less contrast. The only other pic I found that was different looked like white over white (rather than ivory) but I think you can still see the detail clearly in the close up:

Hope this helps. Please try not to worry though, I think it’s a beautiful dress and it’s going to look amazing whatever colourway it’s in. If you really can’t wait to see it, is it worth getting an appointment somewhere that stocks your colour as a sample?

heatdisneybride :  Let us know once it arrives πŸ™‚ my friend said to me, when I was worrying myself, that they wouldn’t bother putting all the beautiful detailing on a dress if you couldn’t see it. I think it’s a good thing to remember while we wait!

YES. The sample I tried on was a beautiful champgane/blush with rose gold backings on the crystals.I had to blindly order it in off white with silver backings on the crystals! I’m seeing it in person next week and I can’t wait! I ordered it back in march

heatdisneybride :  Wow that’s great that they sent you a photo – although it’s definitely filtered and the white is all blown out. The detailing bottom right looks nice though! I think it’s going to look much better in real life, just need to hold your nerve until Jan πŸ™‚

I basically stressed until the wedding day. I bought an in store dress but it needed hemming, letting out by an inch each side, and installing a corset back because at the time of purchase I could only zip up most of the way. I was terrrrrified the alterations would look bad, that I was fatter than originally thought. I thought I wouldn’t fit in it at my wedding.

None of that happened. It looked nice and I fit perfectly.
