No I love it. In 2008 I caught the bouquet at my then boyfriend (now fiance)’s brother’s wedding. I think it’s a cute tradition and I plan on keeping it alive.

I like it, too!  I’m throwing one- I have plenty of single friends that I don’t think would mind being out there.  I won’t belabor the whole ordeal and make anyone uncomfortable, that’s for sure!  I might increase the incentive by securing a necklace or some earrings in the bouquet, to get more people out there πŸ™‚

Love the toss too, but I’ve read about other tying a gift card to the bouquet and garter. It can be for just $10 to get people out there.

I love it too! I think it’s a great tradition and should be done! πŸ™‚ And of course, it means getting a photo like this:

I love it, it’s so much fun!

I was a bridesmaid at my mom’s wedding last year, and I hardly tried to catch the bouquet because I was wearing a strapless dress that kept “falling” whenever I would lift my arms too high, LOL! πŸ™‚

I’m tossing my bouquet and I don’t care if there’s only 1 or 2 girls trying to catch it! πŸ˜€  Better chances for them!

I’m pretty shy but I’ve always liked particiipating in the bouquet toss.   πŸ™‚   Never won it and never went crazy over it, but I think it’s fun… and often funny too!

I love it but sometimes I’m too shy to participare (like when I don’t know anyone at the wedding).

My friends and sis would kill me if I skip it.

@pengoala: Great Photo!

And I like the bouquet toss. It gives guests something to look forward too in a way.

I caught the boquet while at a wedding where they had both a bouquet and garter toss.  I caught the bouquet innocently — not knowing that the next step was to have the guys catch the garter so that the garter-catcher could put it ON my leg.  Apparently the rule was that he had to put it on my leg and slide it up in the same manner that the groom had taken it off the bride’s leg (i.e., with his teeth).

I hated to be the wet blanket at this bride’s reception, but I didn’t want some strange, lusty dude putting a garter up my leg to raunchy music.  The moral of the story is . . . . if you are going to play this game, warn all the bouquet-catchers so that those who don’t want to have the garter put on them by a stranger can avoid the game and those who are eager to play can line up.
