My Fiance likes the look of my ering alone and doesn’t want me to wear a wedding ring. I said tough shit 🙂 A thin pave band won’t overwhelm it, the diamond is over a carat.
We haven’t gone wedding ring shopping yet because we have a long time before our wedding, but maybe he’ll change his mind once he sees one on my finger.

this is all really great to hear! i’m really starting to think that I won’t get a wedding band at all. it’s kind of a relief to not have to worry about it!
so it seems about a third of us don’t want wedding bands. that seems like a large percentage. it’s interesting that these voices tend to get lost on the bee. i really thought i was a freak.

@laurel946: great choice on no wedding band. your ring is too pretty on it’s own an gives lots of finger coverage

My first marriage I wore a yellow sapphire halo ring. I could never find anything to match it so I wore it alone. This time around I purposely chose a solitaire so I could add a ring and now I feel as if I don’t even want one. Lol I may change my mind though

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
After much discussion FH and I decided that I would wear my engagement ring alone on my left hand and a simple wedding band on my right hand. We may have a custom band made to fit with the engagement ring later but every band I have tried on so far just detracts from the look of the engagement ring.

I’m with you!! I was never interested in having a band and I think my ering looks better on it’s own too! I’ve since decided to get one so that I don’t have to wear my ering all the time.. there are no rules!! Do what makes you happy!

Here’s some pics of mine..

I wear my e-ring on its own, usually on my right ring finger, and wear my wedding band (s) on the ‘ring’ finger; or vise versa…

@youngliz: your ering is a lot like mine but a much bigger ct. i actually do like it with the second band you posted, it’s blingy but in a good way.

My wedding set looks finished with my wedding band. Which is why I can’t wait to wear it. I have stubby small fingers but my shank is thin so the band will add some oomph to the overall look.

Fiance and I went ring shopping the other day and we couldn’t find anything to suit my ring. I thought I would get a plain band but it looks too bare but getting a ring with diamonds kinds of takes away from my halo…

I usually only wear one ring. First of all, I find it more comfortable that way, second, every wedding band I’ve had/have (yes, I have a few) takes away from the center diamond. Lately I’ve been switching out between my 3 stone ring and my diamond band. I’ve tried getting used to wearing two rings but I just don’t like the feeling.
Most of the women in my and DH’s families only wear one ring so I am very used to that look.

If you don’t want to wear a wedding band, then that is fine! People will still get the picture.
My e-ring has a split shank and it looks like I am wearing 2 bands anyway. But I will be getting a wedding band in case I don’t feel like wearing my e-ring for something (vacations, festival, cleaning, etc).
I may or may not wear them together depending on my mood.
I had my e-ring set just high enough to fit a thin band flush with it in case I wanted to wear my wedding band, but still low enough for my lifestyle.

My ring with 3 sided pave I wear alone. I don’t want to damage the pave.

We’re in different boats (I have INSANELY long fingers…), but I love my wedding band! It’s my great grandmother’s. It is in my size, same metal as my e-ring, and the stones match the channel-set stones in my band EXACTLY!
