@futuremrsmejame  I was 36. I remember when I was 26 and my cousin got married at 36. I thougth that was damn old. Then when it happened to me I thought, “well, this is just perfect timing for me!” Funny how a few years can really freshen your perspective.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

@TyneshaS  Thank you.  It was definitely the happiest day of my life and one that I will never forget.  I waited a loooong time for my prince and he was totally worth the wait!

thanks for sharing all these pictures of the beautiful brides!  I’m 40 now and we aren’t yet officially planning and I look at pictures with all these 20something brides and was feeling bad.  But looking at these pictures I can see I’ll still be a lovely bride at any age!

@ehow  I absolutely adore this picture.  The reflection in the puddle, the background, your bare feet, him holding your shoes…love it all.  Congratulations, I’m glad it was everything you imagined it would be!  🙂

@juicebar  I think that as an older bride, you have learned what is really important in life.  For me, the wedding wasn’t all about my dress or trying to have the best of everything.  It was all about the joy and love that I felt that day.  To have my closest friends and family around me all at once was an overwhelming feeling.  I just loved being a bride and feeling so special for that one magical day.   Besides, I think I gave those 20 sometthing brides a run for their money!  LOL

@CinqueTerre  Thanks.  We had an amazing photographer.  The weather was rainy and incredibly windy…so we just went with it.  I took of my shoes and jumped in the puddles!!   Nothing was going to ruin our special day.

I’m not quite mid-30s yet, I’m 32.  My groom just turned 38, and has been married before.  I am so glad I waited and didn’t meet him until I was 30.  I wasn’t ready for him before then, and he wasn’t ready for me.

The nice part about being older is that we can afford the wedding we want without help from our parents.  I also feel less tied to ‘what weddings should be like’ than I would have been when I was younger.  The decision to not have bridesmaids, for example, would have baffled me-in-my-20s but delights me today.  We are really enjoying wedding planning process.
