I usually have a high pain tolerance, but whatever throat sickness is going around is seriously making me cry like a baby. Anyone else experiencing a very dry, sore throat without any flu/cold like symptoms?

@CestTresJolie14: I had that until yesterday! I had a sore throat and a nasty exudate spot on one tonsil and that was it. It seemed to go away after 4-5 days, hopefully you’ll be out of the woods soon if you’ve got the same thing.

Aww I hope you all get better! Sore throats can definitely be extremely painful, I’m sorry 🙁 I had a nasty sore throat and high fever over the weekend and Monday… then I got a massive asthma attack and was in the hospital last night. Fun times. Doesn’t it stink being sick over the holidays? I was sick with a high fever and nausea on Thanksgiving too!! Gah!

Back at work today after Christmas and my throat is killing me and to make it worse… It’s my birthday! So I’m working and sick on my birthday… yay.

@BHB0526: Oooh that sucks so much. I had strep on my birthday a few years back… hope you feel better! That really stinks.

@Omgbunnies: I’m a bit mucous-y today. Better than being super dry! Get well soon!
@batwoman: I feel a bit better today, but still not all better. Hopefully it’ll pass in a day or two (today is day 4). Thank you!
@Batsygirl: Hey me, too! I think it’s pharyngitis. I keep sneezing and it’s all mucous. It feels so much better than feeling like my mouth is a desert. Feel better soon!
@aranel1002: Oh my, that sounds awful! I’m sorry. 🙁 How are you feeling now? Better I hope.
@BHB0526: Wahhh!!! Happy birthday! I’m sorry you don’t feel good AND you have to work. I hope your day gets better and that you feel better. I almost always have worked on my birthday, but I never minded because I have a summer birthday and I was always envious of kids in elementary school who received birthday wishes and I never did! lol but now that I’m 26, I refuse to work on my birthday now and enjoy having a summer birthday.Feel better soon!!!

Yes, I have this terrible sinus infection / sore throat. It’s very draining and annoying.
@ElbieKay: I’m sorry. 🙁 But at least it’s not just you. Did you see a doctor for your sinus infection? I think someone told me they should be treated by a doctor.

two people tried to share their holiday hugs and kisses and colds with me over Christmas but I felt the “tickle” in my throat and sinus in the early boxing day AM and fought it off aggressively with some home remedies. Looks like I won, I sure hope so. One of the well-wishing sickies looked halfway dead.

I had a very sore throat the week before last. I mixed together 1/4 cup of honey and a 1/4 cup of vinegar and then took a tablespoon 6 times a day. Worked like a charm for me.

Boil a cup of water,
but in one table spoon of honey.
A piece of ginger
And a tablespoon of lemon juice.
Hope you feel better!

By these (anti viral/bacterial/immune support):
Oil of oregano
I’ve been doing herbals for two years and haven’t been sick since summer of 2010. I also work in a small office and everyone has been sick but me. As soon as I feel my throat a little sratchy or if someone is sick.. I load up on these. Try it.

I’m on day 4 of feeling sick, though. Isn’t it a bit too late for remedies? I asked my cousin who is a doctor and he told me I’m too far along in this for anything to help fight it. He did say that warm salt water gargles and tea will help with easing the pain, but that I should start to feel better in a day or two anyway as its already run its course. I’m still willing to try, though.
