We were LDR for some of our wedding planning.  I had fun until we got to the colors.  After the 4 day debate on colors, and I’m talking emails at work/home I had about 100 emails on the colors … it sucked the life and fun out of it …. after that i was like meh whatever as long as I don’t have to do anything I don’t care.

I only had to do it for 4 months! Thank the lord! I hated it. There were some parts that were great, but the one part that I wanted to be all magical and fairytale-like ending up sucking the life out of me – the dress. The wedding was great, the marriage is great.. the wedding planning? Not so much.

I didn’t want to regret not having a “wedding” so I decided to have the traditional church ceremony + reception thing.  I guess I should’ve realized this was a bad idea the second Fiance bought us a popup camper instead of an engagement ring (my idea!)

My mom is WAY more excited about the wedding than I am… calling me every few days about details I could care less about.  She actually said people would be offended that my card box isn’t fancy enough… and then tonight she calls and freaks out that my five year old niece hasn’t tried on her flower girl dress yet (it’s from Amazon.. I could literally have one here a larger size up in two days).  If it weren’t for my mom second guessing every single detail, maybe it would’ve been fun planning.

I’m religious, and want to get married in a church.  Every other detail has been stressful.

Oh.. picking the right guy wasn’t stressful either 🙂

@star_dust:  We only have a six month engagement.  I keep telling people that if it were any longer, I’d go crazy because there’d be too much time to think.  At least wiwth four months there was less time to stress!!

I got both worlds: We Justice of the Peace got married, and are planning a formal wedding.

Wedding planning sucks. I am so glad it’s over.

I was excited for about 3 months (when we first started talking about getting engaged! we’re not even engaged quite yet but we did some light “planning” aka looking at venues and decor and dresses online) and now I really don’t care and am completely over it lol so….we’re doing a tiny DW/elopement. Less than 20 people, likely only 10 & I don’t even want to plan THAT I just want someone to tell me when to show up haha

@Ennie:  It was nice in a way because I had to make some hard and fast decisions about things that may have taken a lot longer to sort out had the engagement been a lot longer. On the other hand, you only have 4 months! Lol

Planning is awful, especially since I’m one of the most indecisive people you’ll ever meet… and I really don’t care about the details. But, if I don’t “care” about them, no one else will.

I like the planning, until somebody other than my fiancé gets involved!

@greenidlady:  oh girl you are NOT alone. I took a month hiatus from this site/ planning because I was getting overwhelmed (we’re having a long engagement so I have that luxury) we’re paying for everything ourselves so the idea of planning this event while we’re still in the process of earning the money to pay off is SO stressful.

I’d rather have my wisdom teeth pulled. Again. Goodness knows it’d be cheaper and less stressful.
