I got the call today that my dress came in. All I keep thinking is “What if it doesn’t fit? What if it looks bad on me when I actually get MY dress (as opposed to the too-big sample I tried on)?”
Has anyone else felt like this? I keep seeing excited Bees announcing their dress came in, and I wish I could feel like that!

@ThatOneGirl9613: Aww honey! 🙁 hugs to you! Maybe when you go in and finally try on your dress, you’ll feel a little better! Don’t worry, everything will be okay!

I had the same fear when my dress arrived! It was the second dress I purchased ( had major dress regret with my first purchase) and I was completely terrified that it wouldn’t fit well or look good. I was warned by the consultants that the sample I tried on was older and the tulle had settled and flattened; she mentioned that my dress would be very full-skirted. I was so scared that I waited 4 days after it arrived before going in to the salon to try on my dress and take it home.
Me in the sample dress:
Me in MY dress the day I picked it up:
Me on my wedding day with my daddy:
Luckily, my dress fit perfectly (seriously, the only alterations I had done were adding a bustle and removing the boning from the bust area; everything else fit perfectly) and I was ridiculously happy wearing it on my wedding day. Don’t stress about it; it’s going to be fine. And if it’s not perfect, alternations can fix just about anything. Hugs!

I’m sure those thoughts run through majority of brides’ minds, so don’t you worry. I’m sure it will fit like a glove! And if you’re unhappy, you can always have changes made.

@ThatOneGirl9613: I’m pretty nervous. My dress just came in, and I have my fitting next week. I’m excited to see it after 9 months of waiting, but i’m also totaly terrified. I have several worries like a) it’s not going to fit at all and will have to be completely reworked and then what happens to all the beading! (i lost a bit of weight), b) it’s in a different color than I tried it on in (what if I end up hating the color I ordered!?), and c) what if I was just excited on the day we bought the dress and it doesn’t look as good as I thought… I’m not sure if it makes you feel better to know that I’m worrying, too. But I will say that I don’t think it’s out of the ordinary to stress over it and it will be better once we try it on and get it altered. Everything will work out eventually with alterations, if not when you go and try it on. =)

@Miss Mauverick: I hope mine looks as good as yours does!! The sample is beautiful, but your dress looks so much better on you.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts 🙂
I think my biggest issues are my insecurities with my body and also fear of the unknown! I tried the dress in ivory and ordered it in white, and I was shocked when they ordered me 2 sizes smaller than what I wear in street size! Granted, it has a corset back and when I tried the size 4 on in store it was very big on me, but I still never expected them to order me a 0 and because of that I worry I’ll go in, it won’t fit, and then I’ll feel awful. Like I said, I’m pretty insecure anyway so I’m a little terrified this will make me feel worse about myself. Fingers crossed that I go in and I have done all this worrying for nothing.
