My 24th birthday is almost a month before our wedding and since 2/3 of my BM’s live on the opposite side of the state, I feel that it would be rude and selfish to ask them to take time off work twice to do something. Plus, I’m not a big bar-hopper fan and can only have 2 drinks before a migraine comes. I plan on combining my birthday/bachelorette party and going to Seattle where there is a ton to do outside of drink. Plus, my BM’s don’t have to ask for time off!
I could not imagin doing a bar hoping night just before the wedding — it would have to be a week or two in advance.
I’m going to have a party, but not one that involves excessive drinking or strippers or anything like that. I’m thinking dinner at a fondue restaurant, maybe a spa day, some low-key drinks, etc.
We’re getting a group together to go to an amusement park. My fiance’s friends said something about taking him to a strip club (he’s never been to one!) for his party, but I can’t see him doing that. I don’t want a typical bachelorette party at all. It doesn’t interest me, but then again, I’m not that young anymore. 😉
I definitely don’t want a traditional bachelorette party. My girlfriends and I have been talking about doing a wine tasting day, spa day, or weekend getaway to somewhere relaxing with a nice music or art scene. I’m not sure how it will work out, but to me, that sounds more fun than a night of drinking out of penis straws. No judgment–to each her own, but a chill, relaxing afternoon is more my personal speed.
I’m with you, I don’t want or need one either. We are planning a fun girls excursion. Whether it’s a spa day or small day trip somewhere together. The memories will even be remembered 😉 To-each-their own. Do what you want and will enjoy the most!
Lovin the spa – winetasting – amusment park – and weekend get away ideas
I’m right there with you! I’m not really a partying kind of person, so I really honestly don’t care if I get one or not. I can’t really drink a whole lot, because otherwise I’ll pass out by 9:00. I’m probably going to end up doing a weekend in San Antonio or something, and doing fun stuff instead of getting crazy drunk and danced upon by half naked me. A chill time shopping, going to Sea World, and hanging out on the Riverwalk sounds a heck of a lot more fun than wearing a penis tiara.
