I’m not doing this theme but my sister did! Theirs sounds like it was a bit more funky than classy, but it was still amazing. We wore Trashy Diva dresses (super cheap and awesome!), they hired a rockabilly band, my brother-in-law got up and played stand up bass and their first dance was to Elvis.

A lot of the more ‘traditional’ people in my family worried about the wedding but it was so much fun. The music was a huge hit– everyone was dancing, especially our aunts and uncles who loved that kind of music in their youth.

@moosey: O I love trashy diva dresses! (I was so sad when they discontinued their “wedding” dresses before I could buy one)

Are you looking for rockabilly-rockabilly or more hints of rockabilly with swing era? Because when you say “classy 40s” I think more Big Band than rockabilly (which is more evocative of the 50s to me)

Are you looking for music advice or decorations or?

Darling Husband and I had a slightly swing themed wedding. Our tables were named after musicians and dancers of the era and had a 19 piece band that we liked play during dinner and the reception without being too “themey”. We also had a bsic East Coast lesson during our Dr. Pepper Hour (instead of cocktails).
