Although I am still in the “waiting” stage, I plan on having a rustic wedding with a whimiscal twist! I want to use Mason Jars for center pieces, as well as drinking glasses! Also, twine wrapped bouquets. I plan on everything being colorful, so I won’t be sticking to one or two shades.

I’m getting married here

Our colours are tiffany blue and red. One theme which was by chance is bows not over the top though just on stationary and the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses have a sash which tie into a bow.

@bakerella:  I am SO SO SO in love with your wedding!  We are also having a outdoor/rustic theme.  I just showed Fiance your pictures and said “I want her wedding!”  Congrats!!!

I’m also having an outdoor wedding, not so much rustic as organic and Northwest. My flower vases are actually going to be regular vases wrapped in birch wood, and my votive candles are going to sit on little wood cookies. The rest of the reception will be fairly standard, I guess, but I’m trying to incorporate wood elements as well.

My florist is Jordan from Blum, and she’s the one that has the vases, but you can google for birch-wrapped vases and I’m sure you’ll find stuff.

I’m not officially engaged yet (we picked out an e-ring setting last weekend) but that is the exact theme I want for our wedding. Burlap, wildflowers, mason jars, grapevine wreaths, etc. I can’t wait to make my vision a reality!! If you go on Etsy and put in “rustic” in the wedding section you’ll get all kinds of ideas/inspiration. Love it!

@bakerella: Your photos are AMAZING!

Sweetcheeks, I’m getting married at a state park, by the Potomac River.  The reception is a daytime BBQ, under a wooden covered picnic shelter.  My colors are red and sky blue, and I’ll be sticking with lots of paper lanterns, pennants, and cake plates in the center of each table with Rice Krispy treats, brownies, etc.  I have a 2nd formal Asian blessing ceremony at night, but I’m REALLY looking forward to the BBQ.

We unfortunately aren’t getting married outdoors due to living in TX and the crazy weather here, but we are having a rustic wedding. We’re using a lot of the things you’ve mentioned. Here are some ideas from our DIY projects!

table numbers

seating chart

Invites

Bridesmaid’s Bouquets

Hope that gives you some ideas!

OOOO!  Our ceremony was outdoors and our reception in an old, rustic town grange!  We had lots of burlap, mason jars, rocks, rustic decor.  Here are some of our pics…
